EDINBURGH GLOBAL UNDERGRADUATE MATHS SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships available to Mathematics students of outstanding ability who have International/EU fee status, for the academic session 2024-2025. The scholarships are worth £5,000 per year and are tenable for the duration of the programme of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress. A student is deemed to have made Satisfactory Progress in each year if there has been a formal School decision of either “Progress” or “Conditional Progression”, without the student needing to repeat a year. If a student does not make satisfactory progress in any one year, the award will terminate from that point onwards. Eligibility

  1. Scholarships are awarded to applicants with International/EU fee status who are accepted for full-time admission to an undergraduate degree programme offered by the School of Mathematics at the University.
  2. The scholarship is not available to students already on programme. It is also not available to students studying Mathematics as part of a degree programme hosted by another School within the University.
  3. Applicants should have applied to the University of Edinburgh through the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), but do not need to have received an offer in order to begin the scholarship application process.

Stated amount: 534,758 The scholarships are worth £5,000 per year and are tenable for the duration of the programme of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress. Other Info The School of Mathematics is one of the world’s leading mathematical sciences departments, home to internationally excellent researchers and to an innovative educational environment for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Our location in the beautiful and historic capital of Scotland puts us in the centre of a vibrant community of academics, cultural institutions, industry partners and research institutes. As a School we value both the breadth and depth of our mathematical research. We have over seventy permanent members of academic staff and over twenty research fellows and research associates, who come from across the world and together cover a broad range of research topics in pure and applied mathematics, operational research and statistics. Our Graduate School has over eighty research students and over one hundred MSc students, and our postgraduate provision has gone from strength to strength with the recent introduction of Doctoral Training Centres in Analysis and its Applications, and in Data Science. We have close links with the School of Informatics and are actively involved in current data science developments, particularly as one of the 5 UK-wide partners in the Alan Turing Institute.
