Women Scientists Scheme (WOS) is a flagship program of the KIRAN Division of the Department of Science & Technology (DST). Through one of its components- ‘Women Scientists Scheme-C (WOS-C)’- it provides one-year on-the-job training in the area of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) has been entrusted with the implementation of WOS-C. Eligibility
ESSENTIAL:
- Women with Indian citizenship
- Minimum Essential Qualification: Master of Science; Bachelor in Engineering/Technology or equivalent.
- Age: Minimum 27 years; Maximum 45 years Note:
- Women in permanent positions are not eligible to apply
- Those who have already undergone training (partially or fully) in any of the earlier batches or those who are undergoing training in the ongoing batch are not eligible to apply. DESIRABLE:
- Proficient in handling computerized databases, collection, collation, analysis, and report preparation.
- Basic understanding of various IPR aspects & issues with a logical aptitude toward scientific developments across the world. Experience in research, preparation of project reports, term papers, and similar activities.

- Candidates should have the following details ready with them before filling out the form online. Allowed dimension (Width X Height) for the scanned Photo and Signature is (150 X 180) and (170 X 40) respectively. The system will allow a margin of ± 20 pixels in dimension. The maximum size of the Photo and Signature files should not be more than 300kb and 100kb respectively. Details of papers published/accepted and Patents granted/applied, if any. Details of any scholarships received from time to time. Details of period of employment/unemployment.
- Register yourself and create a Login/Password also note this data carefully as this will be required for future reference.
- Ensure email id is correctly filled, failing which no communication will occur and the responsibility lies on the applicant.
- Follow the Flow given on the Left side and Fillup Application Step by Step.
- Write your Date of Birth ("select the date of birth as recorded in Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent examination")
- Give at least one contact number either mobile or landline.
- Choose only one Coordination Centre. The chosen centre will be responsible for arranging hands-on training in consultation with PFC.
- Select Examination Centre in order of your preference.
- The result of minimum eligibility/educational qualification should have been declared. Result-awaited candidates need not apply.
- The application must be complete in all aspects; incomplete applications shall be rejected.
- No documents from the candidates through post/email will be entertained.
- Only one form per candidate shall be considered.
- The candidates will be required to produce original certificates in support of date of birth, qualifications obtained, and professional experience shown in the Application Form at the time of interview as per eligibility conditions as laid down for this scheme, failing which the candidates will not be allowed for the interview and no correspondence in this regards will be entertained.
- Applicants must note down the Application Number generated at the end of filling up this form. This application number will be useful for knowing the status of your application.

Selection process
Selection will be through an all-India online examination and interview. Shortlisted candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be called for the online test. The online exam will be conducted simultaneously at all Examination Centres on the same date under the supervision of PFC and respective Coordination Centres. A merit list will be drawn after the online exam for the purpose of interview and such successful candidates will be informed. The online exam will be mainly objective in nature, having negative marking and aimed at determining the analytical, scientific and technical abilities. Similarly, interviews will be held at the Coordination Centres. EXAMINATION PATTERN The duration of the online examination will be 2 hours and the total number of questions will be
- The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ type). The question Paper will have 2 Sections of 60 questions each, namely Section A (General Section) and Section B (Technical Subject Section). Section A will be common for all. Section B will be different for different candidates as per their subject stream. Candidates will be able to view Questions in Section B based on their subject stream The Section-wise details are given below: Section A (General Section): This section will have 60 questions common to each paper to be attempted by every candidate. These questions will be on General Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, Mental Ability, General Science and General Awareness, IPRs and the English language. Sections B (Technical Subject Section): This section will have 60 questions of 10+2/UG/PG degree level with a suitable mix. These questions will be from the following technical subject domains:
