Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, is inviting applications for Swami Vivekananda Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship and Post-Matric Stipend under Talent Support Program Scholarship Scheme. Students belonging to minority communities i.e. Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Muslim, Parsee & Sikh are eligible to apply for various Scholarship schemes. Swami Vivekananda Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship - Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means scholarship scheme is a flagship scholarship scheme for the poor and meritorious students of West Bengal. The scheme benefits the students at: 1. HS level 2. UG level, PG level for General Degree courses 3. UG level for Medical/Nursing courses. 4. Diploma courses 5. UG/PG level for Technical/Professional/Management courses 6. M.Phil./Ph.D. courses. All girl students who are pursuing the PG courses in Science, Arts, and Commerce stream in this State are getting benefits under the Kanyashree-3 Scheme, a component of the SVMCM scheme. Talent Support Program is a State Government sponsored program under, Govt. Of West Bengal. Eligibility
- Applicants must be domiciled in West Bengal and have been continuing education in institutes situated in West Bengal.
- Applicants must continue his/her study in the educational institutions of West Bengal after passing out in the Current year from the West Bengal State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education and State University.
- Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain).
- Family income is a maximum limit of Rs.2,50,000/- per annum. Post-Matric Stipend under Talent Support Program Scholarship Scheme
- Students pursuing Higher Secondary, Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil, Ph.D., etc except for professional and technical courses are eligible to apply.
- Annual income should not exceed 2.0 Lakhs.
- Institutions must also be located in West Bengal.
- Students who have secured less than 50% marks and passed the last exam.
- 30 % quota of scholarships has been earmarked for girl students.

Stated amount: 8,000 Swami Vivekananda Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship - Amount of Scholarship/month After launching the Kanyashree-3 component under SVMCM Scholarship, 44,645 students have received scholarships for pursuing post-graduation courses. Talent Support Program The stipend is awarded to students who are residents of West Bengal and have passed their last final examination securing less than 50% marks. 30% quota of scholarships has been earmarked for girl students. The total family income for the prospective scholars will be not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum. Any deliberate falsification in the Income documents discovered at any stage will be considered as a grievous offence and may invite serious disciplinary actions leading to
- compulsory and immediate refund of the amount of scholarship already enjoyed by the scholar,
- complete forfeiture of his/her right to apply for any governmental scholarship in future and
- may also attract penal provisions of other relevant laws for the time being in force. No of Scholarship - 5000
Application
No information avaliable. Candidates for different categories will submit their applications online in the scholarship portal and applications i.r.o scholarship cases would be arranged in descending order (on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination apart from income/means criteria), and scholarship would be sanctioned as per the availability of fund and strictly on the basis of the merit list. fund may be transferred to the beneficiaries account if the documents are in order. For failed transaction of scholarship money, the last date of correction at respective Directorate end is 30th June of each year for the previous financial year failed transaction as per IFMS norms.
Selection process
- First All the application form will be evaluated.
- After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be done by authorities. Other Info RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP For renewal of scholarship, application must be submitted online to the concerned scholarship sanctioning authority within one month from the date of his/her admission in the next higher class due to promotion by passing in the first attempt (In case of Semester mode-All Semester Examinations need to be cleared in the first attempt). Renewal cases (concentrated only at a particular level of study) will be sanctioned subject to good academic performance (Minimum 60% marks should be obtained from Higher Secondary Level to Undergraduate Level(combining both semester) at the promotional examination) and 50% marks (combining both semester) at Post Graduate Level.
