An autonomous institute Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) under the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal has implemented Junior Talent Search Test and Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti. Eligibility
Students who have passed the 10th standard examination with a minimum of 75% marks / equivalent C.G.P.A. (in aggregate) and currently studying in class XI in the science stream(with at least 3 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science & others) in any school in West Bengal are eligible to apply.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 1,250 FOR JUNIOR TALENT SEARCH TEST and JUNIOR BIGYANI KANYA MEDHA BRITTI:
- 200 Junior Scholars + 50 Junior Bigyani Kanya
- Rs.1250/- per month and annual Book grant of Rs. 2500/- for 2 years (till completion of 12th standard examination).
- All selected scholars shall get the scholarship certificate.
- Exposure to seminars, workshops, and scientific projects collaborated by the scientific community No. Of Scholarship - 250 (200 Junior Scholars + 50 Junior Bigyani Kanya)

Application Fees is Rs. 100/- The dates of application and details about the examination are advertised in leading newspapers and our website after the result of 10th standard board examination is published. Selection process
Selection will be made through Junior Talent Search Test. The Examination will be online, home-based, and proctored. Questions and answers both will be in English and Bengali version. Science Talent Search Examination 1. Junior Talent Search Test / Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti is a 60 minutes duration examination with full marks of 60. 2. Students are to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from Physical Science, Mathematics, and Life Science. The distribution of questions shall be as below: 3. Section-A 8 questions of 2.5 marks from each subject (A total of 24 questions are to be answered) All questions are to be answered. 4. Award of Marks for each question: Correct Answer: 2.5 Marks Wrong Answer: -1 Mark Not Attempted: 0 Mark Selected Candidates will have to appear in Interview. Other Info Scholarship Test It is a bi-phasic test involving written test (1st Phase) and Interview (Final Phase). On the basis of the performance of written test, short listed candidates are selected for interview. Finally, on the basis of the performance of both written test and interview, a list of Junior scholars is announced.
