Eligibility
Rising Stars represent diverse backgrounds and interests – It is not restricted or selected based on cultural and socioeconomic factors, nor political, religious, and professional affiliations. Apply if: You are a woman of Asian nationality. You are either:
- Applying to attend university at the Bachelor’s level within the next year
- Planning to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in the future
- Currently enrolled in university at any level
- A young professional focused on professional and career development
- You demonstrate a deep commitment to working toward social change in your community
- You are searching for opportunities and resources to help you with your leadership development
Award & availability
Stated amount: 470,850 This is primarily a leadership development program, not a traditional fixed cash scholarship. After being accepted as a Rising Star, participants can optionally apply for financial support through Wedu’s Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) program. Maximum amount offered: Up to US$5,000 per person. Funding is not guaranteed — it is provided on a case-by-case basis and is optional (you must apply separately after becoming a Rising Star for at least 6 months). STEP 2 Leadership Training & Training Orientation Programme (LTOP) This self-paced, two-month online course guides you to refine your leadership goals and prepare for the journey ahead. STEP 3 Community Interviews After successfully completing LTOP, you will be invited to interviews with our Community to share more about your vision and plans. Last date to apply - Mid of October.
