As the name suggests, the UTS Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship is a merit-based award offered by the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) to young aspirants seeking admission to any undergraduate program. The aim of providing this scholarship is to attract international students from all over the world to study in Australia. Eligibility
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria: • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and • Must have completed an Australian Year 12 or UTS recognized high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 outside of Australia, and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification; and • Must meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program; and • Must be commencing full-time time study at UTS on campus (Sydney).
Award & availability
Stated amount: Not Available UTS will pay for 25% of each Recipient’s UTS tuition fees for the course enrolled in for the duration of the Scholarship. The Scholarship cannot be transferred, deferred or redeemed for cash. Up to sixty five (65) new Recipients will be awarded the Scholarship annually.
Application
No Application Fee is required The candidates do not need to fill out any separate applications for the scholarship. All the international candidates applying for admission to UTS in an undergraduate course will be directly considered for the scholarship by UTS.
Selection process
Academic merit in an Australian Year 12 or UTS recognised high school studies comparable to an Australian Year 12 qualification for entry into the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program. UTS International will automatically consider all commencing international students applying for an undergraduate program at UTS in Sydney for this Scholarship. There is no separate scholarship application or documentation in addition to what is required for the coursework application. Offers will be authorised by UTS International. Other Info TERMINATION OF RECIPIENT’S SCHOLARSHIP The Scholarship will terminate: • If the Recipient ceases to meet the eligibility criteria; or • If the Recipient breaches any conditions of the Scholarship; or • If UTS determines that the student is guilty of misconduct and after consultation with the University Secretary the delegate able to award the Scholarship deems that it is not appropriate for the Recipient to continue to hold the Scholarship. • If the Scholarship is terminated for reasons other than those beyond the Recipient’s control, the University might require the Recipient to repay the total benefit received at time of termination. DURATION The duration of the Scholarship is the standard number of sessions required for completion of the Recipient’s enrolled undergraduate coursework program on the basis of a full-time study load, as specified in the letter of offer for admission to the course. Where the Recipient does not follow the usual standard full-time course structure, the total value of the Scholarship may be exhausted prior to course completion.
