Eligibility
A. In support of the University's strategic direction of internationalism, entrance scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and based on the admission average at the time of the offer of admission or in May and/or in August. Students who receive this entrance scholarship and have an admission average of 80.0% or higher are eligible to receive a $4,000 award in years 2, 3, and 4 when they remain registered in full-time studies and achieve a minimum 80.0% average in their previous academic year of full-time study. Students who fail to qualify for a continuing payment may re-qualify by subsequently obtaining an 80.0% or better average in the previous academic year of full time study. B. Payments lost cannot be added to the end of the award period. Students offered a scholarship who subsequently (after their offer) pay the domestic tuition and fees will have their scholarship value updated to correspond with the domestic values (University of Guelph Entrance Scholarship E0291). Entrance scholarships cannot be deferred. Students who defer their offer of admission are reconsidered the following year based on the availability of scholarship for that cohort. Application is not required. C. Students expected to pay the International student tuition fees entering semester one of any degree program in the fall semester who have not attended a post-secondary institution and have a record of high academic achievement.
