Eligibility
- Satisfactory Academic Standing (minimum grade point average 2.7)
- Nominee must be in a second year of a graduate degree program (during the award tenure September - August)
- Selection will be based on academic standing
- Selection will be based on demonstrated volunteer involvement in activities on campus and in the community (volunteer work required for school credit will not be considered)
- The nominee may not hold this award concurrently with an award or bursary with a value of $13,000 or greater
- Preference will be given to a nominee who is involved in volunteer activities both on and off campus
- Course based nominees must have a significant research component to their program (as defined in the Scholarship and Awards Manual) to be considered for this award)
- This award requires a specific application form, the University of Alberta Centenary Graduate Award Application , also available on the GPS website under Forms Cabinet. The standard Inter-Departmental Awards Application form is not accepted for this competition.

Application
Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty) and will be part of a competitive adjudication. The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision. For Application Fee , you may visit official website. Application Instructions • The Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies willrequest one nomination via the GSMS Awards Portal from each eligible department by June 30th. Students are to contact their home department for their internal deadline to submit their complete application and supporting documents. • Eligible students must complete this application in its entirety. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the application is complete before submitting to their nominating department. Required Document Attachments: • A current CV • Up-to-date unofficial U of A transcript (showing current registration) • The students’ nominating department must upload this form and all supporting documents to GSMS. The Graduate Scholarship Committee will make the final nominationselection.
