UBC OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AWARD

The applicant must be an international student holding a Canadian Student Visa to study at the university. To be eligible for the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a new student at UBC, having entered directly from secondary school or post-secondary institution (university or college).
2. Be an international student studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa). Please note that changes to your citizenship status may impact your scholarship eligibility.
3. Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, as well as a strong record of extracurricular involvement and community service.
4. Not have been nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars award.

Merit-based entrance awards ranging in value up to the full cost of tuition and fees are offered to outstanding international students entering undergraduate programs at the University of British Columbia's Vancouver campus. The awards are not renewable and are not dependent upon final grades. The awards are made on the recommendation of the International Student Initiative office. MAJOR POINTS

1. Candidates will be considered for OIS Award after they receive an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia.
2. The selection committee will review academic scores and personal statements submitted with the admission application.​​​​​​​
