Eligibility
Applicants must meet the undernoted criteria: a. Awards may be made to students having their ordinary residence in Scotland and studying anywhere in the world (including Scotland) or students having their ordinary residence outside Scotland and studying in Scotland. b. Awards may be made to undergraduates who have completed at least one year of study, postgraduates undertaking taught courses or postgraduates engaged in research for a higher degree. c. Trustees will not favour applications to cover expenditure which should have been planned at the outset of the course such as required periods abroad or required field courses. They are more likely to favour applications to cover expenditure arising from unforeseen contingencies and unexpected circumstances, or to meet the costs of specific material needs. d. Each application must be accompanied by an institutional reference covering academic and welfare aspects.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 319,600 Bursaries from £500 to £3,000 (3,19,691 Rs.) to undergraduates who have completed at least one year of study, postgraduates undertaking taught courses, or postgraduates engaged in research for a higher degree. Awards will be paid in up to two instalments with the first payment being no earlier than 31st March. Multiple Awards Applicants can be considered for multiple scholarships, but students will only be awarded one Abertay Scholarship i.e. applicants cannot receive multiple Abertay awards. Selection process
- You must meet all the eligibility criteria for the Scholarship/Award.
- You must be a new entrant in the relevant year and register as a student at Abertay University to receive the award. Awards are not available retrospectively to current students.
- Sponsored students (defined as government/company) are eligible for Scholarship awards
- You must meet the terms and conditions of your offer of a place.
- The University’s decision on the equivalence and eligibility of your qualifications, and whether to offer an Award is final. Acceptance International Scholarship - once an award has been made, please confirm your acceptance of the Scholarship as soon as possible. Please note that if you are waiting for other Universities to respond to your application, you do not have to have yet accepted your offer of study at Abertay to accept the offer of Scholarship. Other Info Termination of Award Your Scholarship/Award will be terminated if you no longer meet the eligibility requirements. If you withdraw from or are withdrawn from your studies with us, your Scholarship/Award will be terminated. Use of data All students who are awarded a scholarship agree to allow External and Corporate Relations to share their data with other departments/services within the University. By accepting an Award, students are agreeing to the University their details for promotional purposes and may be asked to provide a case study or profile which may be used in University publications or on the website. Changes to the Scheme The University reserves the right to amend, discontinue or withdraw any Abertay Scholarship at any time without prior notice.
