Eligibility
- Minimum of 3,000 Hours of Demonstrated Employment: Applicants are required to showcase a minimum of 3,000 hours of verifiable employment experience.
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience: Applicants are expected to provide evidence of their leadership roles within their current or past employment positions.
- Eligible Citizenship: Applicants should hold citizenship in a country that meets the eligibility criteria for the scholarship programme.
- Master's Programme Eligibility: The master's degree program that the applicant intends to pursue must align with the requirements for the SI scholarships.
- University Admissions and Tuition Fees: Candidates must have successfully completed the university admission process, be liable for tuition fees at Swedish universities, and secure admission to one of the eligible master's programs by the deadline of April.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 116,477 An estimated 300 scholarships will be available for full-time master’s degree studies in Sweden starting in the autumn semester. The scholarship covers:
- Tuition fees: pay directly to the Swedish university by SI
- Living expenses of SEK 10,000 per month
- Travel grant of SEK 15,000
- Insurance against illness and accident
- Membership of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders (NFGL) – a platform to help you grow professionally and build your network while in Sweden
- Membership of the SI Alumni Network after your scholarship period – a platform for continued networking and further professional development 300 scholarships will be available for full-time master’s degree studies in Sweden starting in the autumn semester.
Application
There is no application fee to apply for an SI scholarship. There is, however, an application fee that you need to pay when you apply for programmes via University Admissions. If you do not pay the application fee by their deadline, your application to University Admissions will not be processed, and therefore you cannot be considered for an SI scholarship. Please contact the University Admissions for questions related to the application fee. A complete application must consist of:
- A completed motivation letter
- A CV
- Two valid and completed letters of reference
- Valid and completed proof of work and leadership experience
- A copy of your valid passport If your application is missing one of the required documents above, it will be disqualified.
Selection process
- There will be a screening of all applications and disqualify those that do not meet the eligibility criteria for SISGP. Then the evaluation of all the eligible applications and take into consideration all the information provided.
- The evaluation is comprehensive and therefore you need to be outstanding in all aspects to get through the tough competition and be selected for a scholarship. Other Info What Documents do you need to submit The Swedish Institute and University Admissions are two separate government agencies. You should contact University Admissions or the university directly if you have questions regarding documents required for your application to them. If you fail to submit the required documents to University Admissions on time, your application may be deemed late, and then you will not be considered for an SI scholarship. Only the applicants who are admitted to an eligible master’s programme by March will be considered for an SI scholarship.
