SVIMS NC GUPTA PULMONARY FELLOWSHIP
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, established in the year 1993, under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super speciality hospital, was granted the status of a university in the year 1995 by an act of A.P. state legislature vide act no.12 of 1995. The purpose of “NC Gupta Pulmonary Fellow” is to enable advanced training of physicians in Pulmonology and to promote excellence in teaching and further knowledge in research relating to pulmonary medicine. Applications are invited from eligible candidates at National level for the SVIMS NC Gupta Pulmonary Fellowship. Eligibility
- MD/DNB (Medicine/ General Medicine/Internal Medicine), MD (TB & RD), DNB (Respiratory Diseases), DTCD, DM (Pulmonology).
- Those who are appearing the examination are also eligible to apply subject to submission of study certificate from the Principal of the Medical College.
- They have to furnish PG degree pass certificate at the time of screening test.
Award & availability
Stated amount: Not Available Stipend: Monthly stipend on par with 1st year DM PG will be paid. In-service candidate will not be paid stipend. Accommodation: Accommodation in SVIMS campus will be provided on par with 1st year DM PG. Travel grant: To and fro travelling grant at economic rates shall be paid by the University for external training. Two candidates each year.

Selection process
- Applications are invited from eligible candidates through a notification on all India basis (in Journals/website/Communications to Medical Universities).
- The “Statement of purpose” stated by the candidate in the application shall be reviewed for a clear vision.
- The candidates will be selected based on Screening Test / Interview. Other Info Objectives & Expectations:
- To promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine.
- To improve patient outcomes in diseases of the lung through specialised training in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
- To create opportunities for collaboration with institutions across the globe.
- To recruit and retain talent, to enrich academic environment and to attract brightest student. Duration of the training: 6 months which include 4 weeks training at an advanced centre within India /abroad. Interview: While attending for the interview the candidate has to furnish all the original certificates for verification. Date of Joining: The selected candidate have to report to the HoD concerned and join the programme on the date prescribed in the provisional admission order. Those who do not report within the time frame notified in the admission order are liable for cancellation of admission without further notice.
