STATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP EDUCATION 'U' - MANIPUR
The government of Manipur through its different departments offer a number of scholarships for the welfare of students belonging to Manipur state thereby enabling them to pursue their education without any financial constraint. A Manipur scholarship provides suitable financial assistance to students coming from different strata of life. Adding to this, the government further promotes access to quality education with the help of different scholarship schemes. The scholarship aims to provide equal opportunities for higher education to meritorious students from economically weaker sections in the state and provide equal opportunities for students studying inside or outside the state. Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must: 1- have a domicile in Manipur 2- have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam from an institution recognized by the Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) OR 3- have passed degree or equivalent exams from a recognized institute 4- have secured admission in general degree course (BA/B.Sc./B. Com, etc., integrated courses included) OR 5- have secured admission in postgraduate courses (MA/M.Sc./M. Com, etc.) in the relevant discipline in a university/college/institution recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) 6- have secured a minimum percentage of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination 7- have an annual family income of not more than 4,50,000.

Selection process
- The Scholarship will be given to the candidates on the basis of marks secured by them in qualifying examination.
- Candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that State.
- Scholarship will be available on the basis of merit only.
