SOF IGKO (INTERNATIONAL GENERAL KNOWLEDGE OLYMPIAD)
The International General Knowledge Olympiad (SOF IGKO) is an annual academic competition organized by SOF for students in classes 1-10 to assess their knowledge of current affairs, social and political developments, history, geography, and other related subjects. The curriculum of the SOF Olympiad is designed to provide young students with a platform to identify and nurture their academic talents in the field of general knowledge, preparing them for the competitive world from an early age. Olympiads, as prescribed by NEP, facilitate the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and cognitive skills in students. Application
Schools in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal pay to SOF a registration fee of Rs 125 (including GST) per student / Olympiad towards cost of examination. Schools may charge an additional Rs 25 per student towards honorarium of in charge, remuneration to teachers to teach and guide, and for other expenses. No fee is payable for students suffering from any major physical disability, or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defense operations. *US$9 for other countries.
- SOF IGKO will be conducted on two dates, as under. A school may select one date to conduct the SOF IGKO as per its convenience.
- Dates of exams may change depending on impact of Corona on functioning of schools. 3.
Selection process
The SOF International General Knowledge Olympiad is a single level exam. The test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during school hours: 1. The level 1 competition is a test of 60 minutes duration comprising 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 10. 2. SOF IGKO is conducted on 2 dates. Each school may select a date for conducting the SOF IGKO as per its convenience. There are separate question papers for each date of exam. Change of date for conducting the SOF IGKO is not permitted. SOF IGKO is a single level exam. 3. The medium of the test is English. 4. CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabi are followed for setting the test papers. 5. The exam is conducted during school hours. CLASS SECTION NO. These include international, zonal, and school topper awards for classes 1 to 10. The top three international rank holders will receive cash awards, medals, and certificates, while zonal and school-level winners will also be recognized. Schools and educators are also acknowledged for their contribution to students' success, with awards and scholarships at international, zonal, and district levels. Appreciation certificates and gifts are also extended to principals and teachers for their dedication and efforts. How To Prepare for the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO): 1. The SOF International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is a competitive exam that tests students' knowledge in the field of general knowledge. To excel in this exam, one must prepare thoroughly and strategically. 2. Familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and syllabus to understand the topics that will be covered in the exam. 3. Practice solving sample papers and previous years' question papers to get a feel of the exam format and improve your problem-solving skills. 4.
