SIR PETER FREYER SPECIAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
The National University of Ireland offers two full fee waiver Sir Peter Freyer Special Merit Scholarship to Indian applicants who are seeking admission in any postgraduate course at the university. The scholarship is awarded in the name of Sir Peter Freyer, a famous pioneer in biomedical innovation who served the Indian Medical Service for 20 years.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Sir Peter Freyer Special Merit Scholarship, applicants must have completed the undergraduate degree and seeking admission to a postgraduate taught degree at NUI with an excellent academic record.
- Students intending to enroll only in a taught postgraduate program are eligible
- The scholarships are for full-time programs.
- Applicants for the Freyer Scholarships must have completed the received an admission offer from National University of Ireland.
- An acceptance deposit must be made to the university.

Stated amount: Not Available Tuition Fee will be covered under this scholarship. Upto 2 Scholarships will be given annualy.
Application
No Separate Application Fee is required Application for Admission to NUI Galway You apply for admission to one of your postgradaute taught programmes online through website. You must have received your offer and have accepted your place via payment of an acceptance deposit in order to be eligible to apply for a Special Merit Scholarship. Scholarship Application In addition to accepting your offer via payment of an acceptance deposit you must also submit a Personal Statement to InternationalScholarships@nuigalway.ie You must ensure to include the title of the scholarship scheme you are applying for in the subject of your e-mail and also your student number (for example - Special Merit Scholarship, student no.). Applications will be assessed based on Merit and also the personal statement (not exceeding 1,000 words). You should receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your Scholarship application - if you have not had a response within 10 working days please let us know. Scholarship Award Notification PLEASE NOTE: They will review the Scholarship Recipients to ensure that you have applied your Study VISA and are making arrangements to come to NUI Galway. They reserve the right to re-allocate your award if you will not be taking up your place at NUI Galway.
Selection process
- The selection criteria for Sir Peter Freyer Special Merit Scholarship are the academic- merit and the personal statement written by the applicant sent separately after confirming the admission to the particular course.
- The applicants who confirm their admission to the National University of Ireland are shortlisted by the selection committee on a merit basis after it is ascertained that they are eligible to get the scholarship. A personal interview may be organized if required by the selection committee either in person or electronically.
- All those who will be chosen for the scholarship will be informed by email and they have to acknowledge the receipt and confirm their willingness to utilize the award failing which will be reallocated to the next-in-line candidate. In case a response is not sent to the students within 10 days, applicants are required to inform the university.
