SIGHTSAVERS INDIA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Sightsavers India, ever since the launch of the India Fellowship Program is committed to grooming young ophthalmologists into promising and skilled professionals. The Fellowship, an innovative course of mentoring and surgical exposure, is designed in a way that allows mastering the craft of a clinician and a surgeon and expands their perspectives on rural eye health. The Sightsavers India Fellowship is an opportunity for promising and passionate young ophthalmologists to get trained at some of the leading eye health institutes in India. Alongside this, the fellows will get a chance to apply these skills and knowledge in a real-world scenario while being placed under the Sightsavers India Eye Health program. The fellows will experience structured skill enhancement and mentoring processes, not just in clinical aspects but also around life skills (non-clinical). This, in turn, will provide fellows a chance to transform into seasoned professionals with the confidence to conduct safe surgeries and live a meaningful life. Eligibility
Postgraduate or a diploma holder in ophthalmology (MS/DNB/DO) from any recognized institute/ university in India, having sound knowledge of clinical ophthalmology (current year pass-outs are eligible to apply).
Award & availability
Stated amount: 75,000 1. Initial four-month training period; Rs. 35,000 per month. 2. 1st year of field posting; Rs. 65,000 per month. 3. 2nd year of field posting; Rs. 75, 000 per month. Additional benefits 1. Lump-sum payment upon successful completion of years 1 and 2. 2. The fellows will be covered under mediclaim, accident, term, and professional indemnity insurance.
