SAKSHAM NATIONAL COMPETITION - ESSAY, PAINTING & QUIZ

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is a registered society set up under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India. PCRA is a national government agency engaged in promoting fuel conservation and energy efficiency in various sectors of the economy. It also helps the government in formulating policies and strategies for petroleum conservation, aimed at reducing excessive dependence of the country on oil imports. Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, is committed to making oil conservation a National Movement. As a part of its mandate, various literary and cultural events are conducted for school students. SAKSHAM - The Essay writing, Painting, and Quiz competition aim to raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservation of Petroleum products in the industrial, transport, agriculture, and domestic sector, and how to practice such tips in their daily lives. Application

No Application fee. Students are to register online and upload scan copy or photo of their I-card of school / certificate of Principal / Aadhar Card / Class 10th Certificate. An activation link will be sent to his/her email ID for participation.

Selection process

  1. Schools to conduct Essay competitions in one or more of the following languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujara, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo, and Santhali.
  2. One student can participate in only one language.
  3. Essay should not exceed 700 words.
  4. Students must submit an essay in his/her own handwriting.
  5. Topic- Oil Conservation towards a healthy and better environment.
  6. Time Limit: 1 Hour 10 mins.
  7. School is required to evaluate the entries, and upload the Best two entries in each language, in which the competition has been conducted at the school, on http://www.pcracompetitions.org. Alternatively, please send the best two entries duly signed and stamped, to the address: Additional Director– EC Sanrakshan Bhavan 10 - Bhikaiji Cama Place, New Delhi, Delhi 110066.
  8. The topic of the essay competition may be displayed prominently, at least a week in advance. School to advise students to prepare in advance for the scheduled competition.
  9. Shortlisted students in each category will be invited for a National Final round to be conducted in major cities of India, PCRA shall bear the expenses of travel. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and special encouragement prizes will be decided basis of the entries in the National Finals.
