Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University), New Delhi established under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India invites online applications from regular students studying Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a main or optional subject in any recognized Sanskrit Pathashala/Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya/ Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya in Traditional Stream or School/College/University in Modern Stream pursuing Purva-Madhyama(1st year)/9th standard, PurvaMadhyama(2 nd year)/10th standard, Uttar-Madhyama/Prakshastri(1 st year)/11th standard, UttarMadhyama/Prakshastri(2 nd year)/12th standard, Shastri /B. Eligibility

  1. Class 9th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1 st year or equivalent course Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 8th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. 8th class or equivalent course).
  2. Class 10th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1 st year or equivalent course Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 9th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. 9th class or equivalent course).
  3. Class 11th standard/ Prak-Shastri-1 st year/ Uttarmadhyama-1st year or equivalent course Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 10th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. 10th standard or equivalent course).
  4. Class 12th standard/Prak-Shastri-2nd/ Uttarmadhyama-2nd year or equivalent course Must have passed the previous examination (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course).
  5. Shastri-1 st /B.A.-1 st/ B.A.(Hons.)-1 st or equivalent course Must have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary / 12th class or equivalent course with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in the overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. 12th class or equivalent course).
  6. Shastri-2 nd /B.A.-2 nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-2nd or equivalent course Must have passed Shastri-1 st /B.A.-1 st/ B.A.(Hons.)- 1st year or equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in the overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The candidate passed the previous two semesters/one year or equivalent course (i.e. Shastri1 st / B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)-1st year or equivalent course). The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. Shastri-1st / B.A.-1st/ B.A.(Hons.)- 1 st year or equivalent course).
  7. Shastri-3 rd /B.A.-3 rd/ B.A.(Hons.)-3 rd or equivalent course Must have passed Shastri-2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)- 2nd or equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in the overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The candidate passed the previous two semesters/one year or equivalent course (i.e. Shastri2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-2nd year or equivalent course). The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in the current class and also in the previous class (i.e. Shastri-2nd /B.A.-2nd/ B.A.(Hons.)- 2 nd year or equivalent course)
  8. Acharya-1 st/M.A.-1 st year or equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit Must have passed Graduation with at least 60% marks or equal grade in the aggregate and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a special subject in the current class/course and at least 100 marks or equal grade in the previous class (i.e. Shastri-3rd /B.A.-3rd/ B.A.(Hons.)-3rd year or equivalent course).
  9. Acharya-2nd/M.A.-2nd year or equivalent in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit Must have passed Acharya-1st/M.A.-1st year or equivalent with at least 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. The candidate should have opted for Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a special subject in the current class/course.
  10. Vidyavaridhi/Ph.D. or equivalent in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. Must have passed Acharya or M.A. in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit with at least 60% marks in the aggregate. The registration of the candidate in the Ph.D. course should be done before the advertisement and not more than two years from the date of registration.

Stated amount: 20,000

  1. Class 9th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1 st year or equivalent course - Rs.250/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.2500/- p.a.)
  2. Class 10th standard/Purva-Madhyama-1 st year or equivalent course - Rs.250/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.2500/- p.a.)
  3. Class 11th standard/ Prak-Shastri-1 st year/ Uttarmadhyama-1st year or equivalent course - Rs.300/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.3000/- p.a.)
  4. Class 12th standard/Prak-Shastri-2 and/ Uttarmadhyama-2nd year or equivalent course - Rs.300/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.3000/- p.a.)
  5. Shastri-1 st /B.A.-1 st/ B.A.(Hons.)-I or equivalent course - Rs.400/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.4000/- p.a.)
  6. Shastri-2 nd /B.A.-2 nd/ B.A.(Hons.)-II or equivalent course - Rs.400/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.4000/- p.a.)

  10. Vidyavaridhi/Ph.D. or equivalent in Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit. - Rs.1500/- p.m. for 12 months+Rs.2000/- per year as contingent. (i.e. Rs.20,000.00 per year) Maximum scholarships for two years only
  11. The Number of Scholarships to be awarded each year depends upon the availability of funds. Reservations will be provided as per the Government policy from time to time.
  12. The Scholarship will be awarded to regular students of Educational Institutions, who study Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a subject in the present class as well as previous class also.

Selection process

  1. First All the application form will be evaluated.
  2. After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
  3. Shortlisting of candidates will be done by authorities. Other Info 1- Students must have opted for the subject i.e. Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit in the present class of Study for which he /she has applied for the Scholarship. However, the grants of Scholarship will depend on the marks secured in the previous class of study in the concerned above subject and overall percentage. 2- The Scholarship will of the concerned Academic year tenable for one Academic year i.e (10 months) starting from the 1st July and ending with 30th April. As Scholarship is awarded only for one academic year on the basis of marks obtained in the previous examination, students have to apply every year afresh. It will not be renewed automatically. 3- The Scholarship for the Ph.D/Vidyavaridhi will be tenable for two full years i.e. 24 months subject to satisfactory progress report. The scholar shall send Utilization Certificate and Progress Report on the work done by the scholar through the Guide and Head of the Department, to enable the Sansthan to consider the Scholarship for the second year. 4- As per guidelines of the Scheme, a list of the students provisionally eligible for the award of scholarship will be sent through E-mail or By post, to the Principal/H.O.D./Dean of the concerned institution for verification.
