The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at The University of Queensland (UQ) invites outstanding students who are citizens of India, to apply for a postgraduate coursework scholarship to cover 25% of tuition fees in the Master of Biotechnology, Master of Molecular Biology or Master of Bioinformatics programs, along with the Student Services & Amenities Fee. Up to four scholarships will be awarded each semester (eight per year), with half of these reserved for Master of Biotechnology applicants. Eligibility

A. This scholarship is for international students who are citizens of India and who will be studying at The University of Queensland on a full-time basis and who meet the selection criteria defined on the application form. B. The scholarship is intended for newly commencing students and is not available for students who have already commenced studies at The University of Queensland.

Award & availability

Selection process

The successful applicant will be selected on academic achievement as well as the quality of their 500 word expression of interest. Additionally, the successful applicant must: • be a citizen of India, • possess a Grade Point Average of at least 80% in 7 semesters of undergraduate studies or received a minimum of 75% over 8 semesters of study at a higher education institution in India which is ranked Section 1 or 2 according to NOOSR (the Australian government, National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition), • be able to commence as an international student in Australia on a student visa, • have submitted the application by the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted. Other Info Duration of Award: The maximum period of tenure for the scholarship is for the standard full-time duration of the program unless otherwise stated. Termination of Award: The scholarship will be terminated: • If, after due enquiry, the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences concludes that the student has not fulfilled their obligations, or is not making satisfactory progress (a Grade Point Average of at least 4.00 in each semester). • If the student has not resumed study after an approved maximum period of deferment of 1 year. Termination of Award: (cont’d) • If the student fails to maintain full-time study. • If the student transfers to another program in UQ or withdraws from the program (approval from the University is required if a student wishes to transfer or withdraw from a program).
