Parents of children from Scheduled Castes and other underprivileged groups can apply for financial aid through this scheme to help pay for their children's pre-matriculation education. The objective is to enhance these kids' academic performance, lower the dropout rate—particularly when they're moving from primary to secondary school—increase their involvement in school, and raise their prospects of finishing their education past the Pre-Matric stage. Eligibility

1- The scholarships are exclusively available to Indian nationals. 2- Component 1: Scholarships for SC students before matriculation: a. Students who are applying should be enrolled full-time in classes IX and X. b. Students applying must be members of a Scheduled Caste. c. The applicant student's parent or guardian's annual income cannot exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh. 3- Component 2: Pre-matric scholarship for kids whose parents or guardians work in dangerous or unclean jobs: a. Students ought to be enrolled full-time in subjects I through X. b. Children/wards of parents/guardians who, regardless of their caste or religion, fall into one of the following groups are eligible for scholarships.

  1. Individuals engaged in manual scavenging. (ii) Flayers and Tanners. (iii) Pickers of waste. c. This Scheme component does not have a family income cap. 4- Eligible for one scholarship at a time for classes I to X. Notify awarding body if another scholarship is received.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 8,000 The following is the combined academic allowance that will be provided to the students: 1- Day Scholar: 3500 Rupees annually 2- Hosteller- Component 1: ₹ 7,000 annually Component 2: (For Class III-X) ₹ 8,000 annually In addition, a 10% extra allowance shall be given to Divyang (Disabled) students. Selection process

The selection of candidates is based on an application form. Other Info Duration and Renewal of Awards 1- The award once made will be payable until the student passes Class X, subject to satisfactory academic performance and attendance of 75% in every academic year. The attendance will be verified through an Aadhaar-based attendance System. 2- If a scholar is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness, the award may be renewed subject to the production of a medical certificate from a prescribed authority and acceptance of the same by the institution. 3- Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she/he will not get a scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.
