PRE MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR SC STUDENTS - PUDUCHERRY
1- Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 6 to 10), Puducherry is a scheme implemented by Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Puducherry to students studying in Class 6 to 10 in the recognised institutions of the state. 2- The objective of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste students to complete their education up to secondary level and to prevent Scheduled Caste students from abandoning their education. Eligibility
- Boys and Girls·belonging to Scheduled Caste Community and studying from Standard VI up to Standard X are eligible to avail of the Scholarship.
- Necessary Caste Certificate obtained from Tahsildar/Deputy Tahsildar of the concerned Taluk or Sub Taluk shall be produced along with the application.
- They shall be native of the Union Territory of Pondicherry by birth or having residence for a continuous period of not less than five years. Students will be required to produce in this regard a Nativity Certificate or a Residence Certificate as the Case may be obtained from Tahsildar / Deputy Tahsildar of the concerned Talul or Sub Taluk.
- The Scholarship will be available only if the student is continuing his/her studies satisfactorily. he/she secures promotion to the next higher class annually.
- The annual income of the parents/guardians shall not exceed the limit of income for the below poverty line prescribed by the Government from time to time.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 200
- The Scholarship shall be granted for 10 Months in a academic year.
- VI Standard to VIII Standard: Rs 100 per Month.
- IX Standard and X Standard: Rs 200 per Month. No. of scholarships is subject to availability, please visit official website.

Selection process
- Scholarship will be available on the basis of merit only.
- Candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that State Other Info MODE OF DISBURSEMENT: 1- On being satisfied that the applicant has fulfilled all the conditions, the Director shall sanction the Pre-matric Scholarship to the eligible Scheduled Caste students, after getting necessary expenditure sanction therefor from the Government. 2- The amount of scholarship will be disbursed to the Students through the Schools concerned. If a student is found to have availed the scholarship by furnishing false Statement facts, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of Scholarship already paid till then shall be recovered at the discretion of the sanctioning authority. 3- The scholarship will be paid once in a year.
