OPPORTUNITY COST TO PARENTS OF SC GIRL STUDENTS - PUDUCHERRY
Opportunity Cost to Parents of SC Girl Students - Puducherry is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India to provide financial support to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category female students of the state who are studying in Class 6 to 10. The scheme is being implemented by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Puducherry. The scholarship aims to increase the participation of SC students to improve their academic performance and enhance their chances of progressing to post-matriculation education. Selected female students will receive ₹3,000 per academic year. Eligibility
- The student should be a female student studying in Class VI Standard to XII Standard of a Government or Government-recognized educational institution in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
- The students should belong to the Scheduled Caste community.
- The female student and her parent/guardian should be a native of the Union Territory of Puducherry either by birth or by continuous residence for not less than 3 years.
- The annual income of the parents shall not be more than ₹9,000/-. Note: The opportunity cost is payable to the parents only if girl students have been promoted to the next higher class.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 3,000 Under this scheme, ₹3,000/- per academic year is payable to the Scheduled Caste parent for each daughter studying in classes VI to XII standard. The number of scholarships is subject to availability for more please visit the

Selection process
- First All the application form will be evaluated.
- After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
