1. Established and led by TBA21–Academy, Ocean Space is a planetary center for exhibitions, research, and public programs catalyzing critical ocean literacy, collaborative research, and environmental advocacy through the arts. 2. TBA21–Academy, TBA21's research platform, fosters a deeper relationship with the Ocean and wider ecologies through the lens of art to inspire care and action. 3. Through physical and digital initiatives, research, and programs the Academy works as an incubator for collaborative inquiry, artistic production, and environmental advocacy, catalyzing new forms of knowledge emerging from the exchanges between art, science, policy, and conservation. Eligibility
- There is no age limit for the Ocean Fellowship Program.
- For this program, TBA21-Academy hosts scholars and practitioners from across disciplines to convene for a short but intense period of co-research and development on Oceanic topics.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 599,566 The fellowship provides a fixed allowance (not a tuition scholarship) Amount varies by year:
- €3,000 for ~3.5 months (2020 cohort)
- €5,500 for ~4 months (2021 cohort)
- €4,500 for ~3 months + sometimes travel & accommodation (2022 cohort) So, overall: Approx range: €3,000 – €5,500 per fellow It is a one-time fellowship grant, not a recurring yearly scholarship. Number of Scholarship is the subject to availability, for more please visit official website.
Application
No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program.

Selection process
- First All the application form will be evaluated.
- After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.

- Located in the Church of San Lorenzo in Venice, Ocean Space is a planetary center for exhibitions, research and public programs catalyzing critical ocean literacy, collaborative research, and environmental advocacy through the arts. Established and led by TBA21–Academy and building on its expansive work, this embassy for the Ocean fosters wonder, engagement, and collective action.
- Ocean Space opened to the public in 2019 with the exhibition “Moving Off the Land II” by Joan Jonas, having been largely closed to the public for over 100 years and after extensive renovations, which were finished in early 2020. Ocean Space operates an annual program and is open to the public from spring to autumn.
