National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) gives Tax Free Cash Awards to Indian Nationals every year for meritorious inventions in three Categories, i.e., National Innovation Award, National Societal Innovation Award and National Budding Innovators Award under Programme for Inspiring Inventors and Innovators (PIII) a DSIR Grants-in-Aid Programme to recognize and encourage inventive talent in the Country and to stimulate the spirit of inventiveness among the scientists, technical persons, industrial workers, technicians, artisans, craftsman and students which could be harnessed for the benefit of the Nation. These awards are selected by NRDC Prize Awards Committee in their meetings.   2. Follow the instructions carefully for filling out the online application form.
  3. Register yourself to gain access to the forms (Registration is mandatory).
  4. Use your User ID and Password to log in.
  5. Application form is divided into 4 sections. Applicants can save the information after filling each section and fill the rest of the form later.
  6. To submit the online form, fill in all the details in the given fields in all the sections and attach the relevant documents and then press the submit button (In Step 4).
  7. Before submission of the online application, kindly preview the complete application (Press Preview Button) to check whether all 4 sections are properly filled.
  8. No modification can be made after the final submission.
  9. Acknowledgement will be generated after the final submission of the online application form. Keep it for your record.
  10. To download and print the PDF Format of the filled application form a link will be sent through email.
  11. Save the soft copy of your application on your computer in PDF Format for your reference and record. Take the printout of the filled application form. Get the signature(s) of the Applicant(s) and Head of the Organisation. Put the rubber stamp/ seal of the Head of the Institution/ Organisation. Send this hardcopy of the filled and signed application form to NRDC Office Address (Manager, NRDC National Awards Programme, Prize Award Division, National Research Development Corporation, Zamroodpur Community Centre, Kailash Colony Extension, New Delhi – 110048) through Any Courier/ Ordinary Post/ Speed Post/ Registered Post/ By Hand.
  12. It is mandatory to send one hardcopy of the filled application form to NRDC Office by Post/ by hand, after submission of the online application form, failing which the application for the NRDC National Awards will not be considered and liable to be rejected.
  13. Hard Copy of the printed application form signed by the Applicant(s) and NOCs along with the necessary documents mentioned in the checklist (Click Here to Download the Check List) and the photographs in the prescribed format should reach the NRDC office in or before September.

Selection process

  1. First All the application form will be evaluated.
  2. After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.

  4. National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) was established in 1953 by the Government of India, with the primary objective to promote, develop and commercialize the technologies / know-how / inventions / patents / processes originating from various national R&D institutions / Universities. NRDC is fully owned by Government of India and is registered under the Companies Act, 1956, and is now being administered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. NRDC is presently under the administrative control of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology (MoS&T), Bharat Sarkar.
  5. During the past seven decade of its existence and in pursuance of its corporate goals, NRDC has forged strong linkages with the scientific and industrial community in Bharat and abroad. NRDC has a wide network of research institutions, academia and industry and made formal arrangements with them for the commercialization of know-how developed in their laboratories. NRDC has been constantly pursuing new sources for acquiring, developing and commercializing technologies developed by the R&D organizations in the country.
  6. NRDC is now recognized as a large repository of technologies spread over almost all areas of industries, viz. Agriculture and Agro-processing, Aerospace, Bio Technology, Chemicals including Pesticides, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Food, Metallurgy, Electronics and Instrumentation, Building Materials, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, etc.
  7. NRDC as of today has concluded more than 5100 technology transfer agreements with Indian Industries since its inception in December 1953 which has led to accumulation of ample knowledge and expertise in managing technologies generated in public funded organizations. Notable technologies licensed by NRDC are Indelible Ink, Infant Food, 10 & 20 HP Tractors, Super Absorbent Hydrogel, Extraction and Formulations of Azadirachtin, Potassium Humate from Lignite, Vijetha and Ankush Silkworm Bed Disinfectants, Artificial Heart Valve, Crop Specific Foliar Micronutrient Formulations, etc. The licensing of technologies by NRDC has led to establishment of a large number of small and medium scale industries in the country.
  8. NRDC is mandated for implementing two major technology promotional programs viz., Program for Inspiring Inventors and Innovators (PIII) and Program for Development of Technologies for Commercialization (PDTC) funded by the DSIR, Bharat Sarkar.
