NEHRU MEMORIAL MUSEUM AND LIBRARY (NMML) RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Applications are invited by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library for the award of fellowships to scholars to pursue research in the following themes 1. India: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives 2. India in Transition 3. ndia and the Wider World The Fellowships are offered at three levels: Junior Fellow, Fellow, and Senior Fellow. The emoluments, including allowances, will correspond to that of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor of Central Universities, respectively. CPF/GPF facilities will be extended only to scholars having permanent jobs who take up the Fellowship after taking leave without pay from their parent institution. All the selected Fellows should undertake their research work/project only making NMML their base. They will be allowed for the study tour only after obtaining approval from the competent authority. Eligibility
- Senior Fellow: Scholars of eminence who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge in their respective fields and preferably have experience of conducting/guiding research and have two published books to their credit.
- Fellow: Ph.D. or equivalent with a good academic record, published works, and at least five years of teaching/post-doctoral research experience.
- Junior Fellow: These positions are open to candidates with a good academic record and/or scholarly publications, preferably a Ph.D. degree.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 30,000 Fellows receive emoluments and allowances corresponding to academic positions:
- Junior Fellow – roughly at Assistant Professor level.
- Fellow – roughly at Associate Professor level.
- Senior Fellow – roughly at Professor level. The exact stipend is aligned with central university pay scales, with contingent allowances for research expenses. Contingency allowances (for books, travel within research bounds):
- Up to Rs. 30,000 per annum for Senior Fellows/Fellows.

- Interested scholars are required to send their applications after duly filling them along with a write-up of about 2,000 words on the proposed project to be undertaken.
- The duly filled application form, research proposal and educational as well as professional certificates/ documents must be sent in a single PDF file to the e-mail id: fellowship.nmml@gov.in, failing which the application is liable to be rejected.
- The last date of the receipt of the applications is April. Incomplete and wrong applications will be summarily rejected.
Selection process
- First All the application form will be evaluated.
- After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.

- Members of the Selection Committee, PMML Society, Executive Council, and PMML staff cannot be a referee.
