NATIONAL OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP FOR ST STUDENTS
Applications are invited for the National Overseas Scholarship by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The applications are invited online on the National Overseas Portal. Objective: The scheme provides financial assistance to selected ST students for pursuing higher studies i.e. Master's Degree, PhD, and Post-Doctoral research program abroad. 1. Post-Doctoral Research -1 & 1/2 years (One and a half years) 2. PhD - 4 years 3. Master’s Degree -1/2/3 years (One/Two/Three years) depending upon the duration of the Course. Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates applying for the National Overseas Scholarship Should fulfil the requirements given below: Educational Qualification: For Post-Doctoral: 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master’s Degree and PhD. Preference would be given to experienced candidates, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer. PhD: 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master’s Degree. Preference would be given to experienced candidates, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer. For Master’s Degree: 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelor’s Degree. Preference would be given to experienced candidates, especially to those who are on lien with their existing post and employer. Age: The age of the candidate should not be more than 35 years. Income Ceiling: The total family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 6,00,000/- (excluding such allowances as are not treated as part of total income for the purpose of Income Tax) as certified by the employer. Children Criteria: Only one child from the same parent can get the benefit of the Scholarship.

Application
No Information Available. Students applying for a fellowship for the first time need to “Register” on the National Overseas Portal at https://overseas.tribal.gov.in as a fresh applicant by providing accurate and authenticated information as printed on their documents in the "Student Registration Form". After successful login details, a text message will be sent to the registered e-mail address. The following documents are required to be uploaded for Fresh applications under the National Overseas Scholarship:
- DOB Certificate (10th /matriculation certificate should be uploaded as date of birth proof)
- ST Certificate
- PVTG Certificate
- Profile Photo (Size: - 50 KB-100KB)
- Family Income Certificate
- Master Degree (Mark sheet) and Conversion factor formulae from CGPA to equivalent percentage mark (if CGPA)
- PhD (Mark sheet) and Conversion factor formulae from CGPA to equivalent per cent of the mark (if CGPA)
- Copy of Tax Assessment (ITR/Form 16), if applicable All documents should be uploaded in pdf file and the Profile Photo should be in .jpg/.jpeg format(Size: - 50 KB-100KB).
Selection process
The candidate was shortlisted by the Screening Committee and the merit list was prepared on the basis of the assessment of individual students at the interview by the Selection Committee. The selected candidates will take admitted within two years after getting an award letter. Other Info It is a Central Sector Scheme of Ministry of Tribal Affairs under which scholarships are given to the meritorious Schedule Tribe (ST) students for pursuing higher education in reputed Institutes/Universities abroad. The Scheme will be implemented through the Indian Embassies/Missions abroad, Ministry of External Affairs. The provisions of this scheme guideline will be applicable onwards.
