MS. AGATHA HARRISON MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP
Ministry of Human Resource Development administers Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship which is fully funded by the Government of India. The selected fellow is placed at St. Antony College, University of Oxford London. The status of the candidate would be equivalent to that of a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. Eligibility
Qualification and age: Candidates should have uniform academic record with 60% (at least) in PostGraduation and with a PhD degree in the subject field chosen or published works of equivalent merit, which have received outstanding recognition. This Fellowship is intended for a young scholar between the age of 30 and 40 years who has bent for pursuing an academic career and has specialized in one of the following subjects: (1) History, (2) Economics and (3) Political Science. Experience: A minimum of three years teaching experience at Graduate/Postgraduate level after completing PhD as on the date specified in the public notice.

No Application Fee is Required Mode of application: Applicants are required to apply online at the online application portal. The link is provided in the public notice. Important date (tentative): Public notice on the website of the Ministry: In the month of January. Note: (1) Information of this fellowship is circulated to institutes/universities and UGC etc. and also advertised in the leading newspapers. (II) It is to be noted that only one fellow at a time undergoes his/her study in the UK. If the fellowship is extended for another year, the Ministry does not invite fresh application for that year). Interview date: The names of the shortlisted candidates for interview are published on the website of the Ministry in the month of March. Communication with the applicant: Every information regarding this fellowship is published on the website of the Ministry. The e-mails are sent to shortlisted candidates regarding their interview.
Selection process
- Merely fulfilling of the Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship eligibility and completion of the application does not guarantee selection. The MHRD selection committee scrutinizes each application based on which a list is compiled, shortlisting the selected candidates.
- These candidates are sent an invitation letter for an individual interview session. After the interview, the committee announces the selected name of the candidate for Ms. Agatha Harrison Memorial Fellowship. This name is displayed on the website. The decision of the committee is final and cannot be challenged. Other Info The candidate is given Economy Class air passage (both ways). Only spouse of the selected candidate is provided Economy Class air-fare provided he/she stays in UK with the scholar for a continuous period of one year. (As the fellowship amount is sufficient for only one person, the candidate will have to meet the expenditure on maintenance of spouse).
