MPIL JOURNALIST IN RESIDENCE FELLOWSHIP

1. The MPIL Journalist in Residence Fellowship enables journalists with several years of experience to spend between six weeks and six months at the Institute. The time and duration of the stay are agreed individually. MPIL Journalists in Residence are free to pursue their own research. They are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers at the institute and to participate in our various work and discussion formats. 2. Eligibility

The MPIL Journalist in Residence Fellowship is geared towards freelance and staff journalists from all media (print, online, radio, television) who report and write regularly on legal and constitutional topics, or topics from politics, the economy and research-related topics.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 1,144,626 A research grant is offered for the duration of the stay. The Institute provides desk space and access to all research resources of the Institute's library. Monthly research grant:

  1. Typically €3,000 – €3,500 per month
  2. Since the fellowship lasts around 3 months, total funding is roughly:
  3. €9,000 – €10,500 (approx.) Additional benefits:

  5. Full access to research library/resources Around 3 fellows selected per year.

Selection process

  2. After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
