MERITS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR CLASS X AND XII - MANIPUR

1- Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of Manipur . 2- Applicant should have passed Class 10th and Class 12th . 3- Applicant who have passed class 10th and 12th from the following recognized Board are eligible for the Scheme :- a- Class 10th Student from Board of Secondary Education . b- Class 12th Students from Council of higher secondary education . 4- Applicant should not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship /stipend under Merit Scholarship Scheme .

The selection of the candidates will be done by the following procedure: 1- The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur will compile a merit list of eligible students based on their academic performance. 2- The Director of Education will select 300 students from the merit list, ensuring a balanced distribution across the three streams: Science, Social Science, and Commerce. a- Science Stream: 125 student. b- Social Science Stream: 125 students. c- Commerce Stream: 50 students. 3- An additional 50 students will be placed on a waiting list to account for potential refusals, ineligibility, or other unforeseen circumstances. 4- The selection committee will distribute Entitlement Cards and Statements of Particulars to the selected candidates, formally confirming their enrollment in the respective streams. Other Info DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND ITS RENEWAL: 1- A scholarship under the scheme is renewable from year to year within the same stage of education. For example, the scholarship awarded to a student in Class XI can be renewed for the XII Class. Similarly, the scholarship awarded to students on the basis of XII class of (10+2) pattern can be renewed in the second year and subsequent year/years within the same stage of education. 2- If a scholar is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness and or on account of any unforeseen event, the award may be renewed for the next academic year on submission of medical certificate and other proof to satisfy the Head of the Institution who will certify that the student would have passed had he appeared in the examination. 3- If a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if he changes the course of study without the approval of the state government the scholarship will be cancelled. Good conduct and regularity inattendance are also required for continuance of the scholarship. The decision of the State Government willbe final and binding in all such matters. Scholarship once cancelled will not be revived in any circumstance. 4- Where a scholar has shifted to another course instead of continuing with the course for which the scholarship was originally granted e.g. a scholar who was studying in first year of 2 years (10+ 2) course or first year of 3 year degree course on passing the first year shifts to engineering or other similar course., the scholarship may be renewed for the Engineering or theother course. 5- The duration of scholarship provided in the meritorious persons passing Class X & XIIshall be for a maximum period of 2years and 3 years respectively,
