KONRAD ADENAUER STIFTUNG SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria listed below to secure Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship :

1. International students who wish to study in Germany can apply.
2. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree before applying.
3. Must pursue master's or PhD programs from any of the KAS partner universities in Germany.
4. Candidate should not be more than 30 years of age while applying.
5. German Language Proficiency at the B2 level is a must.
6. The applicant should be actively engaged in voluntary work
7. Must possess a broad general education and a distinct interest in political issues,
8. Must have a positive attitude towards democracy and human rights,
9. Should be open to developing their personal points of view and practice tolerance.

Stated amount: 130,639

1. The duration and level of funding varies for different types of studies. Graduates (master or postgraduate students) receive a monthly scholarship of € 934 (INR 87, 166). The standard funding period is two years. After having obtained unconditional admission to doctoral studies at a German university, PhD-students receive a monthly scholarship of € 1,400 (INR 1, 30, 639). The standard funding period for PhD scholars is three years. We also fund research stays in Germany for the minimum of three semesters.
2. Beside the monthly stipend, we offer multiple subsidies for our scholars. Upon request, we subsidize health care insurance up to the amount of € 120 (INR 11,197) per month. We also offer a family allowance of € 276 (INR 25,754) provided that you and your spouse live together in one place in Germany for at least three months and that his/her income does not exceed the amount of € 450 (INR 41,991) per month. Additionally, we grant children’s allowance of € 194 (INR 18,102) per month for children living with you in Germany. Prerequisites are the submission of an official German translation of the child’s birth certificate and the official rejection of your demand for public child allowance.
3. In addition, PhD-scholars can apply for financial assistance for research stays abroad. However, we do not fund participation in congresses or symposia.
4. Fees resulting from courses at the university in Germany that are directly related to your studies can be refunded up to the amount of € 1,500 (INR 1,39,971) per semester. However, we do not refund regular semester fees resulting from enrollment or annual re-registration. Scholarships are limited.

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the grants, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. Candidates who want to secure the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship must submit an application form to be considered for the same. Candidates living near Focus regions for can submit a written application directly to the KAS office. 2. Letter of motivation.
3. Academic transcripts with certified translations.
4. Proof of German language Proficiency Certificate: B2 skill.
5. letter of Recommendation signed by the University Professor holding a doctoral. The letter should not be two months old.
6. Joining letter from the University concerned.

A detailed description of your doctoral thesis: This exposé should be written in German or English (5-10 pages; font size 12; 1.5 line spacing) and should outline the central research question of your proposed project, its scientific relevance, your theoretical approach and the motives behind your choice of the research subject. It should also contain a work and time schedule and a bibliography.
9. A second academic letter of recommendation: This second letter should be written by the supervisor of your doctoral thesis, providing you already have one. It replaces the letter of recommendation concerning the applicant’s personality.

Every year, new focus regions are identified for the selection process. Interview Location: The next regional selection conferences will take place in cooperation with the KAS offices in Turkey, Singapore and South Caucasus. Candidates will be evaluated based on the following factors-

13. Students in Medicine or Pharmacy can only apply after having completed their intermediate exam in Germany or when having achieved a comparable stage of their studies.
14. Human or dental medicine specialist training or post graduate research stays in Germany cannot be supported. 3.Persons having already achieved a doctorate are not eligible for a scholarship.
