KERALA - POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR MINORITIES
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities inviting applications for Post Matric Scholarship for Minorities at the central level. Candidates of Kerala are invited to apply. Scholarships under this scheme shall be available for studying in classes XI, XII, Post-matriculation diploma/certificates, and Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in India and Master's Degree/Diploma from any University recognized by UGC/AICTE.

Eligibility
- Should be the First Year student of Plus Two/ UG/ PG/ PhD Courses of Higher Secondary School/ College/ Institutes/ University, which is either a Govt/ Aided/Recognized Unaided Institution. OR 11th Class/Technical/ Vocational Course of ITI/ITC Centers affiliated to NCVT. OR
- Course, other than those listed in under merit-cum-means scholarship scheme. The names of courses listed under Merit-cum-means scholarship are given in See Instructions for details.
- Should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/Buddhist/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
- Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination.
- The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
- Should not be availing of any other Scholarship or Stipend.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 17,000 The number of Post-metric scholarships to be sanctioned every year is 17,000 + Renewal (seventeen thousand only). An amount equivalent to Admission and Course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subject to a maximum ceiling. Application
No application fee Applications will be called for through the National Scholarship Portal (http://www.scholarships.gov.in). The applicants should submit their application through the on-line system within the last date prescribed for receipt of applications. All requisite documents like photograph, proof of age, disability certificate, income certificate of the parent, t-uition fees receipt, last academic qualification certificate, etc. duly filled in the prescribed format are required to be uploaded in the on-line system, if the scholarship amount including tuition fee is more than Rs.50,000/- per annum. Selection process
The scholarships will be sanctioned in accordance with the criterion laid down by the Central Government. The following factors will be taken into consideration:
- Fulfillment of eligibility conditions as given in the scheme.
- Recommendation of the State Education Department.
- No. of slots available to the State.
- Merit of the candidate in terms of the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- In case of a tie in the percentage of marks, the percentage of disability will be considered i.e. the candidate with a higher percentage of disability will get preference. ln case there is still a tie, the age will be considered i.e. the older candidate will get preference.
