KERALA - POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR DISABILITIES
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities inviting applications for Post Metric Scholarship for Disabilities at the central level. Candidates of Kerala are invited to apply. Scholarships under this scheme shall be available for studying in classes XI, XII, Post-matriculation diploma/certificates, and Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in India and Master's Degree/Diploma from any University recognized by UGC/AICTE.

Eligibility
- Scholarships under this scheme shall be available for studying in classes XI, XII, Post-matriculation diploma/certificates, and Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in India and Master's Degree/Diploma from any University recognized by UGC/AICTE.
- Students with more than 40 percent disability are eligible to apply.
- Students benefiting under any other Scheme are not eligible to apply.
- The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 25,000 Number of Post-matric scholarships to be sanctioned every year is 25,000 + Renewal (Twenty Five thousand only). An amount equivalent to Admission and Course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subjected to a maximum ceiling. No information available
Application
No Application Fee is required. Applications will be called for through the National Scholarship Portal (http://www.scholarships.gov.in).
Selection process
The scholarships will be sanctioned in accordance with the criterion laid down by the Central Government. The following factors will be taken into consideration:
- Fulfillment of eligibility conditions as given in the scheme.
- Recommendation of the State Education Department.
- No. of slots available to the State.
- Merit of the candidate in terms of the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- In case of a tie in the percentage of marks, the percentage of disability will be considered i.e. the candidate with a higher percentage of disability will get preference. ln case there is still a tie, the age will be considered i.e. the older candidate will get preference.
