JNCASR PROJECT ORIENTED BIOLOGY EDUCATION (POBE)

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research invites applications for its Project Oriented Chemistry Education and Project Oriented Biology Education Programmes. As part of its Science Outreach Programme, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) conducts a Project Oriented Biology Education (POBE) programme, for students studying in B.Sc first year (PCM) to explore their academic potential, stimulate a deeper interest in science and infuse creativity and scientific temper amongst undergraduate students. Selected students will be allowed to attend lectures, and participate in laboratory projects and research. The programme will be conducted during the summer vacation for a period of 6 to 8 weeks over three consecutive summers. Selected students are expected to commit to the programme for three years and successful candidates will receive a Diploma in Biology from the Centre. Since its inception in 2006, around 103 students from different colleges in the country have benefited from these programmes. Most of them are pursuing science/research within the country and abroad.
