INTERNATIONAL AVIATION WOMENS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

To be eligible for the International Aviation Womens Association Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Meet the following criteria: a. Identify as female b. Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian permanent resident with Humanitarian Visa, or International student.
2. Meet the following enrolment criteria: a. Be a commencing or continuing Swinburne student in Semester 1 b. Enrolled full-time in an eligible course.
3. Submit a personal statement (maximum 2 pages) or short video (between 1 to 3 minutes) outlining: a. Why IAWA's mission and the organisation's commitment to Connect, Inspire and Lead throughout your career are important to you. b. Explain your leadership experiences and share what you have learned through your leadership experiences (e.g. through your clubs, work, volunteering). c. Tell us what you expect to gain from being an IAWA scholarship recipient beyond the financial support.

1. At least one (1) written reference outlining suitability for the scholarship: a. Academic reference - from a person qualified to comment on academic studies, e.g. lecturer, subject coordinator, school principal, etc., or b. Character reference - from a person competent to supply a character reference such as a current or past employer, not a family member c. Applicants should demonstrate leadership qualities such as volunteering, sporting association, part-time work etc
2. A copy of your Academic Transcript (your most recent Unofficial Academic Transcript will suffice).
3. Samples of your writing, projects or similar works (e.g. previous essays, group project work, recorded speeches or videos) that highlight your technical skills and/or who you are. Students who have been successful in obtaining a scholarship will receive a scholarship offer letter via their student email with the details of the scholarship, a link to these scholarship conditions and instructions on how to accept or decline the offer. Accepting a scholarship at Swinburne means you accept and agree to your scholarship requirements and conditions. You cannot defer a scholarship to a later semester or year.
