INSPIRE AWARD MANAK
'Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE - MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in classes 6 to 10. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children. Under this scheme, schools can nominate 5 best original ideas/innovations of students through this website till 15th September. INSPIRE AWARDS – MANAK is an initiative to foster a culture of innovation and creative thinking amongst school students to address societal needs through Science and Technology. The objective is to attract talent, have them exposed to science at an early age (10-15 years or Standard 6-10), and help towards building a critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the science and technology system and increasing the research and development base. INSPIRE Award- MANAK aligns with the action plan for the “Start-up India” initiative launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Eligibility
Students in the age group of 10-15 years and studying in classes 6 to 10 are eligible to apply.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 10,000 Disbursement of INSPIRE Award of INR 10,000 into the bank accounts of students through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme will be made. No. of Scholarships is subject to availability, for more please visit the Official website.

Selection process
Selection of ideas/innovations will be based on novelty, social applicability, environment friendliness, user friendliness and comparative advantage over the existing similar technologies. Under the INSPIRE - MANAK Scheme, students are invited from all government or private schools across the country, irrespective of their educational boards (national and state) to send original and creative technological ideas/innovations focusing on common problems and come up with solutions on their own., be it household or for porters, labourers, society or the likes. Once the student has thought of an idea, he/she can submit their ideas to the Principal/Headmaster of their school.
