INDUS TOWERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES FROM NORTH EAST
The Indus Towers Scholarship Program is dedicated to empowering youth with disabilities from the North-East Region by providing scholarships for relevant and in-demand vocational skills that facilitate sustainable livelihoods. This initiative is designed to support individuals who are eager to engage in vocational and skill-based activities that lead to employment or self-employment opportunities. By focusing on practical and market-oriented training, the program aims to equip these youth with the necessary skills to achieve economic independence by supporting them to pursue certificate and diploma courses ranging from 3 months to 1 year, with a maximum fee support of Rs. 70,000 each for 70 youth from Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland. Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be Indian citizens. Category I: Students are state subjects/Domicile from NE States, i.e., Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Category II: Students belong to other states in India and are studying in Indian Institute of National Importance (INIs), Visit: https://www.education.gov.in/institutions-nationalimportance
- The Applicants are persons with benchmark disabilities, i.e., 40 % and above.
- The Age of the applicants is between 14-30 Years.
- The Applicants must have completed HSLC/ Class 10 and or/ preceding examination with at least 55% or equivalent CGPA, i.e., 6.25
- Annual Income of the family falls under BPL or Economic Weaker Section.
- Candidates must be willing to pursue/are pursuing: i. Academic & Professional Courses from Affiliated Institutions: Higher Secondary/ Graduate/Post-Graduate/Master/ Diploma etc ii. Short-Term Skill Building & Certification Courses: Computer, Vocational, Hospitality etc. iii. Coaching for Employment Oriented Govt Exams.
