The Indira Gandhi Utkrishta Chhatravriti Yojna for meritorious students for Post Plus Two Courses shall be awarded to 150 students at Rs. 18,000/- per year per student purely based on merit and without any income ceiling. The Indira Gandhi Utkrishta Chhatravriti Yojna for meritorious students for Post Plus Two Courses shall be awarded - 1. The Scholarship will be awarded to 10 toppers each from the merit list of 10+2 Arts, Science & Commerce, supplied by the HP Board of School Education Dharmshala, provided they join any academic/professional stream. 2. The Scholarship will also be awarded to 10 toppers from the Merit List of BA, B.Sc & B.Com, provided they join any academic/professional stream. The scholarship will be renewed every year to the same number of students till they complete the degree/course which they pursue. Eligibility
The following eligibility criteria are required to apply under Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chatravriti Yojana
- An applicant must be a citizen of Himachal Pradesh.
- The candidates must have passed class 12th from any stream like Science, Arts, and Commerce.
- The applicants must have passed BA, BSC, and BCOM with at least 60% of the marks.
- The students must have been admitted to academics and professional streams.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 18,000 The Scholarship will be provided to 150 Students at Rs. 18,000/- per year per student. A total of 150 meritorious students will receive 18,000 per annum based on merit.
Application

Selection process
A selection committee constituted by the Directorate of Higher Education evaluates the remaining applications based on merit. The evaluation criteria may include:
- Academic Performance: Marks obtained in Class 12 and subsequent examinations.
- Entrance Examinations: Scores in relevant entrance exams (if applicable).
- Extracurricular Activities: Participation in extracurricular achievements, awards, and recognition.
- Community Service: Involvement in community service initiatives. Based on the merit evaluation, a list of selected candidates will be prepared. Thus, the Himachal Pradesh government launched the Indira Gandhi Utkrisht Chatravriti Yojana. Under this scheme, the HP government provides financial assistance to financially weak students to pursue higher education. It also helps the HP government to reduce the rate of illiteracy in the state.
