The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad is inviting applications for the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIMA. The objective of the programme is to provide students with necessary skills to identify and research complex issues in the specialized field of management. FPM is offered in the following areas: 1. Business Policy 2. Economics 3. Finance and Accounting 4. Food & Agri-Business 5. Human Resource Management 6. Information Systems 7. Innovation and Management in Education 8. Marketing 9. Organisational Behaviour 10. Production and Quantitative Methods 11. Public Systems Candidates applying to the Fellow Programme in Management are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of CAT. For NRIs and Foreign students this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Eligibility

The candidate must hold, subject to the condition laid down below,

  1. “A Master’s Degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks, AND with at least 50 percent marks in the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification (minimum three years of bachelors level education after the completion of higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent”. (OR)
  2. Five year/four year Integrated Masters Degree programme in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks, obtained after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. (OR)
  3. A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 percent marks. (OR)
  4. A 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average. Condition: The Master's degree or equivalent qualification/Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification should be:
  5. from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956; or
  6. Recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India or (c) possess an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 175,000 Fellowship and Expenses IIMA provides a comprehensive fellowship that covers all academic expenses including tuition, computer, library, medical insurance, placement and alumni fees, and in addition includes a monthly subsistence allowance of Rs.32,2800/- (Slab A) for first and second years, Rs. 35,400/- (Slab B) after completing comprehensive examination and Rs. 39,300/- (Slab C) after submitting the TAC approved thesis proposal. A Contingency Allowance of Rs. 25,000 per year (for five years) to cover research expenses, expenses on books, photocopying etc. are also available to all students. Students are entitled to get up to an amount of Rs.1,75,000/- (upper limit) for attending international conference/workshop/summer school during their entire tenure with FPM system (maximum 5 years). Since the FPM is a full time residential programme, bachelor accommodation is provided to all the students in dormitories. A fixed number of houses for married students are available on campus. Housing: Unmarried Students: There are 30 student dormitories. The dorms have ten single rooms on each floor arranged around a stairway and a tearoom. Stay in the dormitories is compulsory for students. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served in the campus Mess. The rooms are fully furnished including a telephone connection. The dorms also have a T.V., washing machine and refrigerator. Married Students: If you are a married student with kids then you are eligible for Married Student Housing (MSH) which is a 1BHK flat inside the campus. Office Space: Limited office space is available for doctoral students. Very limited numbers of seats available.

Selection process

Candidates applying to the Fellow Programme in Management are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of CAT. For NRIs and Foreign students this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Standard Test Score not required if an applicant is: -

  1. PGP Alumni of any IIM - PGPX/PGP
  2. PMP Alumni of any IIM where such courses are offered (Part-time/evening/week-end/Distance Learning programmes of IIM are NOT considered)
