INDIA FIRST YEAR EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

1. Must be an Indian national.
2. Must have completed 12th education from an Indian institution.
3. Must have an unconditional admission letter for a UG program at the University of Alberta.
4. Must be commencing the chosen program in the same session and year as the scholarship.
5. Must have less than 24 IB, AP, or A-Level credits, before joining the university. Eligibility for UG Admissions at the University of Alberta: To secure admission to the UG program at the University of Alberta, an Indian student must fulfil the following requirements:
6. Completion of five academic subjects in class XII.
7. High school academic transcripts.
8. English proficiency score. Note: The number of scholarship offered each year are only limited and transfer students are not eligible under this category of scholarship.

1. The University of Alberta does NOT have any separate application form for India First Year Excellence Scholarship.
2. Indian students admitted to a UG program at the University of Alberta will be automatically considered for the scholarship program.
3. Prospective students seeking financial aid through this scholarship program or any UAlberta Scholarship are advised to submit their admission applications as early as possible.

1. The University of Alberta’s scholarship selection committee will receive applications of the eligible students from the admission office.
2. Selections for India First Year Excellence Scholarships are majorly based on an applicant’s high school standing. From academic grades to extracurricular achievements, each element is reviewed.
3. Recipients of the First Year Excellence Scholarship are notified about the committee’s decision via email. Funds are directly dispersed to the recipient’s student account and are automatically deducted at the time of tuition fee payment.
