IITB-MONASH RESEARCH ACADEMY PHD SCHOLARSHIP
Students enrolled in the joint IITB-Monash PhD program will be based at the Research Academy co-located at IIT Bombay in Mumbai, India. The PhD program takes an average of 3.5 years of full-time study to complete (or part-time equivalent). Students will spend a minimum of 3 months but normally 6–12 months* of their PhD candidature at Monash University in Australia with their allocated co-supervisor. Students will receive a generous grant to facilitate this experience. Eligibility
Exceptional students whose intended area of study aligns with the research priorities of the IITB-Monash Research Academy are invited to apply for the Joint PhD program. The minimum entrance requirements for PhD admission are:
- First class or equivalent Master’s degree in a range of disciplines.
- First-class Bachelor’s degree and a valid GATE score. Satisfying requirements of academic qualifications and English Language proficiency of Monash University.

Award & availability
Stated amount: 552,000 Students in the joint IITB-Monash PhD program will benefit from the following funding arrangements:
- Rs 4,92,000 per annum scholarship for the first two years.
- Rs 5,52,000 per annum after the first two years.
- A grant of up to A$33,000 per annum in Australia A maximum of one year in Australia working with your Monash University co-supervisor, waiver of international student tuition fees at Monash University. Information is not Available.
Application
No Separate Application Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrol for the program. Applications for a PhD, research masters, course transfer and/or centrally managed scholarships are submitted through the Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship Application portal. Prior to starting your application, we strongly encourage you to review our Application Submission Guide, which details all required supporting documentation and provides further useful information on our Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship Application portal. IMPORTANT: You can only submit one application per scholarship round or admission period (i.e. January - June and July - December). Selection process
Short-listing for Interview If you’re Form-A is found to be suitable, you will be notified via email and you will receive an interview invitation.
