HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY-PHD SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Applicants must have a minimum of an upper second-class degree in a relevant scientific subject (or international equivalent).
2. An MSc in Physics, Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering is beneficial. Applicants should be numerate with an understanding of experimental design and should have experience with modelling multi-phase flow in porous media.
3. Prior experience with laboratory work and a working knowledge of reservoir simulation packages or conventional modelling software is essential.
4. Applicants are also required to possess the ability to write reports, collate information and present it in a clear and engaging manner.
5. Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail are also required.

2. You will also need to provide a CV, a supporting statement, a copy of your degree certificate and relevant transcripts and one academic reference.
3. You must also provide proof of your ability in the English language (if English is not your mother tongue or if you have not already studied for a degree that was taught in English).
4. We require an IELTS certificate showing an overall score of at least 6.5 with no component scoring less than 6.0 or a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 90 points.
