GOOGLE PODCASTS CREATOR PROGRAM
Launched in 2018, the Google Podcasts creator program provides independent audio makers from around the world with the resources, skills, and creative communities that make podcast production more productive and innovative – and a little less lonely. Using the PRX Training Teams’ signature application of design thinking principles, this intensive, multi-week accelerator helps creators refine their ideas to create meaningful projects that serve their audiences. Our teams create novel solutions and workflows that inform and support their long-term sustainability goals. This rigorous program fosters collaboration among peer creators resulting in vibrant global cohorts that learn to challenge each other, give constructive feedback, and grow together. Free to participants, the 12-week training will be entirely virtual and conducted by PRX alongside international industry experts and Google Podcasts creator program alumni. Eligibility
The team is looking for creative, engaged producers who:
- Have an active, existing podcast and have published at least five episodes by the application due date.
- Represent a range of geographies, backgrounds, views, voices, and styles.
- Are BIPOC podcasters and creators from traditionally marginalized groups.
- Have a fresh and compelling podcast.
- Have a sense of the audience they are trying to reach.
- Have a sense of how they want their show to sound.
- Are open to change and interested in making their podcasts sustainable through teamwork and planning for revenue and audience growth.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 1,007,412 Participants will receive:
- Regular feedback on all aspects of their production, including editorial and technical input.
- Training on topics such as storytelling, sound design, and reaching audiences through marketing and engagement strategies.
- Equipment and software to help meet independent production needs amid the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Up to $12,000 (INR 10, 07, 412) in funding for use as they see fit for their productions. No. of scholarships is subject to availability, please visit official website.

Selection process
- The Google Podcast creator program advisors are global leaders in the industry.
- Some will assist PRX in selecting the winning teams.
