GLOBAL CITIZEN PRIZE FOR YOUTH LEADERSHIP BY CISCO
Cisco Youth Leadership Award is an annual award, presented for the first time in 2018, which honors a young change-maker helping to create a better world for all. It is awarded in partnership with the technology company Cisco, a global partner of Global Citizen, and recognizes an individual between the ages of 18 and 30 who has taken an innovative approach to solving problems, and who has made a meaningful difference towards the goal of ending poverty in their community. The prize includes a USD 250, 000 (INR 2, 09, 88, 100) award paid to the organization to which the individual contributes. Eligibility
- You must be 18-30 years old as of the award ceremony, and be able to travel to the award ceremony to accept the prize.
- For a period of three years, you must be willing to do media interviews and appearances and grant rights to GC and Cisco to use name, likeness, and related content in GC or Cisco marketing campaigns and on GC or Cisco owned-platforms, such as cisco.com, globalcitizen.org, and social platforms.
- You must accept the terms and conditions.
- You must not be a citizen of a country or entity subject to financial or other sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or other government entity of the United States of America that may restrict the transfer of the Prize.
- You must not be an employee of Global Citizen or Cisco.
- You must not be any organizations that have previously received prize funding or direct grant funding from Cisco or the Cisco Foundation.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 20,988,100 The winner will receive:
- USD 250, 000 (INR 2, 09, 88, 100) awarded to a person or specific people on behalf of an organization that is judged to best-fit selection criteria.
- An all-inclusive round-trip to the award ceremony for themselves and a guest.

Application
No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. All applications must be submitted online. There are four parts to the application:
- An “About You” section containing basic personal and organizational information;
- Your pitch on why you should be awarded the prize in a 1-2 minute video, including how you are working towards achieving one or more Global Goals;
- An outline of how your work aligns with the judging criteria — impact, vision, catalyst, global citizenship, and technology innovation — through answering short questions about your work;
- Additional information about your organization, including proof of its registration. You don’t have to be a founder or CEO of an organization to apply. The Cisco Youth Leadership Award can go to anyone who has had an impact; it is all about showing leadership, dedication, and innovation. For more information: Click here
Selection process
Candidates will be judged against criteria by a group of Global Citizen, Cisco, and independent experts. Cisco Youth Leadership Award will be someone who can demonstrate measurable impact of their work over the last three to five years, and who has advanced one or more of the UN’s Global Goals. Applicants are judged holistically by their application materials and supporting documents against five equally weighted criteria: IMPACT Demonstrated track record of measurable impact at scale over last 3-5 years advancing one or more of the Global Goals. VISION Compelling vision and concrete plans for how to extend this work in the next 3-5 years, including how the prize will advance efforts. CATALYST Inspires other young people to have an impact on achieving one or more of the Global Goals. GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP Demonstrates the values and embodies the spirit of a Global Citizen and a Global Problem Solver. TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION Innovates with technology or Internet-based communications to improve efficiency, reach, and magnify impact.
