Applications are invited for Gen Foundation Grants. The Gen Foundation was registered with the Charity Commission on 14th August 1998. The Gen Foundation is a charitable trust which principally provides grants to students/researchers in natural sciences, in particular, food sciences/technology. In order to be eligible to apply applicants must have at least a conditional offer from an academic institution or have backing from an organization to pursue a project. The aim of the Foundation is to enhance the importance of cross-cultures between Japan and the rest of the world in today's global society. Eligibility
To be eligible for the Gen Foundation grant, an applicant:
- Must study and/or research in the field of natural sciences, in particular, food sciences/technology and
- Should hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The Foundation does not support undergraduates, short-term training, conferences, seminars, or thesis writing. Such applications will not be considered.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 544,455 The amount of each grant is based on the merits of each application and is set at the Trustees' discretion. Previous grants have ranged between £500 (INR 54, 446) - £5, 000 (INR 5, 44, 455). No. of scholarships is subject to availability, please visit official website.
Application
No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. Before applying for the Gen Foundation grant, you are strongly recommended to check whether you are eligible to apply. The application form must be completed in English and submitted with all of the supporting documents. Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.

- Not emailed. Evidence of acceptance by an organization/institution
- Evidence of a conditional letter is acceptable.

Selection process
- First All the application form will be evaluated.
- After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be done by authorities.
- If shortlisted candidates are unable to attend an interview in the UK we can arrange for a telephone interview.
