The purpose of these scholarship programs is to accept excellent human resources from foreign countries, including India, to Japan, as international students, to promote mutual understanding with foreign countries and to form human networks, to strengthen the educational and research abilities of Japanese universities, and to make international intellectual contributions. Eligibility
Here is the scholarships eligibility criteria provided by the Government of Japan. SNO. Type of Scholarships Eligibility Criteria 1 Reasearch In addition to the Qualifications and Eligibility Criteria listed in the Guidelines, the following would apply: 1.For Master’s course / Doctoral course (first phase) Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field with minimum 70% marks. The candidates should obtain their mark sheet and degree on or before September 30, 2025 for the October 2025 batch.
- Doctoral course (second phase) Master’s degree in the relevant field with minimum 70% marks. Candidates should have practical research/teaching/work experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification on or before 30th September 2025 for the October 2025 batch. 2 UG Students In addition to the Qualifications and Conditions listed in the Guidelines, minimum of 80% marks in 12th (or 11th or 10th) grade are required. * Preference will be given to candidates with Japanese Language proficiency. 3 College of Technology Students In addition to the Qualifications and Conditions listed in the Guidelines, minimum of 65% marks at 12th (or 11th or 10th) grade are required. * Preference will be given to candidates with Japanese Language proficiency. 4 Training College Students In addition to the Qualifications and Conditions listed in the Guidelines, minimum of 60% marks in 12th (or 11th or 10th) grade are required. * Preference will be given to candidates with Japanese Language proficiency. 5 Japanese Studies Students Students who were enrolled as undergraduates in the selected universities, and have studied Japanese language or Japanese culture for over 1 year. 6 Young Leader Program Students -Persons recommended only by the following recommending bodies in India: *Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions: (1), (2), (4) *Ministry of Law and Justice: (4) *Confederation of Indian Industry (CII): (3), (4) *Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI): (3) - Government Officials for (1), (2) - Legal Professionals for (4) - University Graduates with at least 3 years of work experience for (1), (2) and 2 years of experience for (3) - University Graduates with at least 4 years of work experience for (4) 7 Teacher Training Students Applicants who have worked as teachers in primary or secondary schools for at least 5 years
