EIFFEL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship is awarded to international students by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. The scholarship is awarded to students who want to study abroad and are willing to be admitted to France in any PhD or Masters program. The scholarship provides an opportunity for people up to 30 years of age for the masters-level program and up to 35 years of age for the PhD level program. Eligibility
The two main disciplinary fields for the France Excellence Eiffel scholarships cover the following seven areas of study for the Master's and Doctorate elements: For Science and Technology
- Biology and Health.
- Ecological Transition.
- Mathematics and Digital.
- Engineering Sciences. For Humanities and Social Sciences
- History, French language, and civilization.
- Law and political science.
- Economics and management. Levels of Study French higher education institutions who submit candidates to the France Excellence Eiffel program agree to enroll them:
- In courses leading to a master's degree.
- In an engineering program.
- In a joint doctoral program (joint supervision of dissertation and/or dual degree), in partnership with a partner institution abroad. Duration of the scholarship Master's level
- A maximum of 12 months when enrolling in an M2
- A maximum of 24 months when enrolling in an M1
- A maximum of 36 months for the completion of an engineering degree Doctorate level Eiffel scholarships are awarded for a period of 6 to 36 months from September 1 of the award year. The scholarship duration will be determined according to the following terms:
- A scholarship of 36 months is subjected to a registration in year one.
- A scholarship of 6 to 18 months is determined according to the enrolment year, for all candidates, especially for those who are already engaged in a joint doctoral program (joint supervision of dissertation and/or dual degree), in partnership with an institution of higher education abroad: a. A maximum of 6 months for awardees entering the third year of a doctorate program. b. A maximum of 12 months for awardees entering the second year of a doctorate program. c. A maximum of 18 months for awardees entering the first year of a doctorate program.
Award & availability
Stated amount: 167,713 Master's level France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1, 181 (INR 1, 10, 039), to which is added several services: International transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, etc. Doctorate level France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of €1, 800 (INR 1, 67, 713) (since the 1st of January) which adds several services, international transportation, national transportation, insurance, housing searches, cultural activities, etc. For both elements of the program, tuition fees are not covered by the France Excellence Eiffel program. Scholarships are limited.
Application
No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the grants, it will be automatically considered, once you enroll in the program. Step 1
- Contact the Campus France office in your country of origin or the Cooperation and Culture Office of the French Embassy; both can advise you about your study plans.
- Contact the French educational institution or research organization by visiting its website or by emailing or telephoning its office of international relations to learn how to apply for admission (including the date by which your application must be received). Inform them of your wish to be considered for an Eiffel scholarship.
- It is your responsibility to choose the school or university that best suits your plans to study or conduct research in France.
- All French institutions of higher education can nominate candidates for Eiffel scholarships. Step 2
- The educational institution accepts and supports your application for the Eiffel Scholarship.
- The institution files your application online using Campus France’s dedicated website.
- Applications submitted directly by students or by institutions outside France will not be accepted.

Selection process
The selection process for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship is carried out by a committee consisting of four panels of experts from the Department of Political Science, law, Engineering Sciences, and Management.
- The members of the panels are not allowed to evaluate the applications from the institutions with which they are associated or affiliated.
- Candidates are judged based on their academic performance as mentioned in their application forms.
- The institution and the department of the candidates are also considered based on their contribution to promoting the Eiffel Excellence program.
- Around 70% of the scholarships are offered to the candidates with outstanding academic performance and the rest 30% of scholarships are awarded to the candidates who have not received any scholarship. Other Info PROGRAM REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO RECIPIENTS 1. Eiffel scholarships are competitive. Recipients can be proud of being recognized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

- Campus France, the agency responsible for promoting French higher education, research, and international academic mobility, is responsible for managing and tracking your program of study in France. You are requested to become familiar with your rights and obligations as a scholarship recipient by reading this document carefully and contacting Campus France if you require further information. When contacting us, we ask that you always include the file number that will be assigned to you.
- An Eiffel scholarship may not be combined with another French government scholarship, an Erasmus + scholarship, or a scholarship from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. Awardees finding themselves holding two scholarships must decline one of them. If they give up the Eiffel, they must provide email notification to Campus France, as the agent of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. YOUR OBLIGATIONS
- You have rights—but also obligations.
- Eiffel scholarships are granted for a specific, predetermined program, both in subject matter and in duration.
- The benefits of the scholarship come with the obligation to apply yourself to your academic program, in particular, to sit for all examinations and to follow the rules of your institution.
- The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs reserves the right to cease scholarship payments to recipients who engage in activities incompatible with the objectives of the program.
- Eiffel scholarship recipients must submit to Campus France a certificate of academic enrollment for the current year as soon as their scholarship program begins, as well as a certificate of enrollment in the national health insurance scheme.
- Eiffel scholarship recipients must communicate with Campus France about their academic status, in particular by submitting data on academic progress twice yearly as requested by Campus France.
- Eiffel scholarship recipients must inform Campus France in a timely manner before beginning an internship, traveling abroad, or commencing a gap year.
