DELHI ARCHIVES ONE YEAR FELLOWSHIP

Department of Delhi Archives under the Government of NCT of Delhi has instituted a Fellowship programme in the field of Archives for research and development. The fellowship aims to support research in the fields of Archives, Conservation, Research & Publication, Digitization & Microfilming and other various fields with the sole aim of preserving the archival heritage of the historic capital city of Delhi. Fellowship programme in Archives includes Senior Research Fellow (SRF) & Junior Research Fellow (JRF). While the term of a fellowship would be one year, extendable by one more year maximum, the fellowship will be an ongoing programme of the Department of Delhi Archives. Eligibility

  1. Records Management - Post Graduate / M.Phil / Ph.D. / One Year Diploma in Archives & Records Management from National Archives of India.
  2. Research & Publication/ Oriental Languages (Urdu/Persian) - Post Graduate / M.Phil / PhD.
  3. Digitization - Graduate / Post Graduate / PhD.
  4. Dissemination of Information/Data - Graduate / Post Graduate / PhD.
  5. Conservation - Graduate / Post Graduate.
  6. Microfilming - Graduate / Post Graduate / Certificate Course in Reprography from National Archives of India/ Certificate Course in Photography from a recognized institute.
  7. The upper age limit is up to 40 years as of the last date for submission of the application (proof to be submitted). However, for the fellowship in Oriental Languages, there is no age bar considering the number of language-knowing experts in the field and to save the dying language.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 50,000

  1. A stipend of Rs.50,000/- per month shall be paid to each SRF and Rs. 25,000/- to each JRF.
  2. The amount so received as a stipend shall be subject to TDS as per the Income Tax Act. There would be 10 SRF in the fellowship program and 05 JRF.

Selection process

SRF & JRF will be selected from a wide range of academic and professional disciplines from amongst those emerging as leaders in their field. Other Info Tenure of Fellows The Fellowship shall be of maximum one-year duration to allow talented, experienced professionals to contribute meaningfully from design to execution. A performance review will be conducted at the end of every 3 months, after which the fellowship may be extended for further period. Fellowship can extended to Outstanding Fellows on the recommendation of the Committee and with approval of Competent Authority.​​​​​​​ Important Guidelines

  1. Only one application in any one field from one individual will be considered. In case a candidate submits more than one application he/she will not be eligible for consideration.
  2. Incomplete application forms will be rejected without review.
  3. The information and the facts given in the application form must be true and correct. In the event of any information as furnished in the application form is found to be incorrect the application will not be considered. In case of any change in address/telephone number, the fellow shall inform the Department of Delhi Archives in writing within a week.
  4. Fellow will be provided requisite infrastructure & stationery for the research & development along with TA (applicable only for travelling out of Delhi) for scheduled programme as per Government rule.
  5. In the event of selection, the candidate shall have to complete formalities duly prescribed by the Department.
  6. In case, the fellow wishes to leave the Fellowship, he/she has to give one month notice in advance and also liable to refund the drawn fellowship amount with interest @ 12 % p.a.
  7. The selected applicant hereby called SRF/JRF will have to take the research for the complete period of one year. In case he/she discontinues, he/she will be liable to refund the drawn fellowship amount with interest @ 12 % p.a.
  8. If during receiving the fellowship, any information submitted by the fellow is found incorrect, the fellowship will be terminated and the candidate will have to refund the grant along with the interest penalty @12% p.a.
  9. In case research work is published, the Department of Delhi Archives will have copy right on the aforesaid published material.
