DEAKIN VICE CHANCELLOR'S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is offered to international students pursuing any undergraduate and postgraduate coursework program. The scholarship program awards a 50% and 100% tuition fee waiver to the recipients commencing their studies at Deakin University. 1. Applicants must have secured an average grade of over 85% in their previous education. 2. Apart from academic merit, a candidate’s personal statements make a significant role during the selection procedure. 3. Recipients will have to incur the cost of other expenses such as travel and accommodation in Australia, as the scholarship is only applicable for tuition fees. 4. Recipients must not have received any other Deakin University scholarship. 5. An offline Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship application form must be completed before the semester deadline. The selection of successful applicants for the limited number of scholarships is highly competitive in nature and might require scores above the stated minimum requirements as well. Eligibility

To be eligible, all the below selection criteria must be met:

  1. Be a prospective international student for a coursework degree at Deakin University.
  2. Be eligible to study at Deakin University.
  3. 85% overall in Year 12 scores of CBSE / ICSE / State Board; OR
  4. 10 overall in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) / A Level; OR
  5. 32 overall in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); OR
  6. 80% overall in an undergraduate degree.
  7. Applicant must be a citizen of South Asian countries.
  8. Applicant should be applying through a Deakin authorised agent based in a South Asian country.

Award & availability

Stated amount: Not Available Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is presented to international students who want to pursue higher education at Deakin University. Recipients of the scholarship will receive:

  1. The scholarship offers a 100% or 50% reduction in tuition fees.
  2. Participation in the Vice-Chancellor's Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP).
  3. Scholars will get a priority place for on-campus accommodation (at own cost and subject to availability).
  4. This bursary will not apply to H911 (Doctor of Medicine). Scholarships are limited.

  5. Check scholarship closing dates Make a note in your calendar to submit your application on time. If you are a current Year 12 student you don’t need to wait until you receive your ATAR to apply. Supporting documents You are required to submit:

  7. Two references who can comment on your community engagement and/or leadership capacity
  8. A completed application to study at Deakin including academic transcripts. Your personal statement must be written by you and reflect your personal views. It should contain:
  9. An outline of why you want to study at Deakin University
  10. An overview of any extracurricular activities and work experience (paid or voluntary) you have undertaken
  11. Why you think you would make an outstanding ambassador for Deakin University

Selection process

  1. Selection of successful applicants for the fixed number of scholarships will be competitive and may require average scores above the stated minimum requirements.
  2. Proper documentation of citizenship, academic transcripts, and award certificates must be provided.
  3. The recipients of Deakin India's 20% Postgraduate Bursary are selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria set by Deakin University. They will automatically receive a 20% fee reduction to the total tuition fee stated in the admission letter.​​​​​​​ Other Info Important Point- ​​​​​​​1. Competition for the scholarships is extremely competitive. Once we receive your scholarship application, your application will be ranked against other applicants from across the world based on academic achievement.
  4. Scholarships are offered on a rolling basis in the months leading up to the start of the trimester. Only applicants who are successful in receiving a scholarship will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application.
