DAKSHANA SCHOLARSHIPS
Dakshana offers free coaching scholarships for JEE & NEET over a year after Class 12 for students studies Science in a government school/college. The scholarship is offered to students who are selected through the Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JDST). Dakshana’s 1-year coaching program Dakshana’s 1-year coaching program to prepare for IIT and medical entrance examinations is offered to brilliant but impoverished students from government and government-aided schools in India, after Class 12 (Science), at the Dakshana Valley, Pune. Fellowship Year Overview Dakshana selects students for the coaching scholarship program, before they finish Class 12, through the Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JDST). Currently, the JDST is conducted at two levels: 1. JDST-JNV: For students currently in Class 12 (Science) at a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in every district in India. Students receive invitations for the entrance test based on their performance at Class 12 internal exams. These results come directly from the JNV through the NVS Regional Office. 2. JDST-GOVT. SCHOOLS: For students of all boards and all government school systems excluding the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Dakshana’s 2-year coaching program Dakshana offers the 2-year coaching program exclusively to students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV). Dakshana has inducted 5000+ students in this program since 2007. Eligibility
1-Year Coaching Program Eligibility Any student who meets all the criteria below can apply:
- Merit Criteria: Students must have scored > 75 percent in the Mathematics and Science Class 10 state board exams or CGPA 9.0 in the Class 10 CBSE exam.
- Students MUST be enrolled in Class 12 Science for the current academic session in a state government school/government-aided school/corporation school/or a school that the government runs and manages. 2-Year Coaching Program Eligibility Dakshana invites JNV students for NDST, through their schools, based on merit at internal examinations during Class 9 and
- Dakshana accepts these results only from the JNVs through their respective NVS Regional Offices. Non-JNV students are not eligible for this program.

Application fee information is not available, please visit the official website Schools are invited to fill their details for JDST here: https://dakshana.org Navodaya Dakshana Selection Test (NDST) Once invited for the NDST, a JNV student must fill the NDST application form on the Dakshana website. The Dakshana website posts the list of students invited for NDST a month before the test. The results of NDST are normally declared in the first week of April/May. A scholar, who receives the Dakshana coaching opportunity, then goes to an assigned JNV where Dakshana provides world-class quality preparation for the IIT or medical Entrance Exam. Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JDST) The 1-year coaching program is available only to students graduating from Class 12 in the year they appear for the JDST. A list, inviting students for the JDST in both cases, will appear on the Dakshana website approximately three weeks before the test date. If a student receives an invitation, then he/she must register at the website and fill the application form for the JDST.
Selection process
Joint Dakshana Selection Test (JDST) The JDST is held in December every year at various school locations in each state across India. Students are either invited to take the test directly through their schools under an agreement with the state government or can apply directly and await an invitation. If your school would like to receive details about the invitation process, kindly ask your school principal to send an email to jdst@dakshana.org using “Students for JDST” in the subject line. Currently, the JDST is conducted at two levels:
- JDST-JNV: For students currently in Class 12 (Science) at a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in every district in India. Students receive invitations for the entrance test based on their performance at Class 12 internal exams. These results come directly from the JNV through the NVS Regional Office.
- JDST-GOVT. SCHOOLS: For students of all boards and all government school systems excluding the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Navodaya Dakshana Selection Test (NDST) The NDST is conducted simultaneously at 80+ centres across India normally in December, every year. The test is divided into four parts: Logical Reasoning, Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The subject-related questions follow the NCERT syllabus of Class 9 and Class 10, although the level of difficulty for questions might be higher. Other Info Dakshana operates from West Lake Hills, Texas in US and Pune in India. Our programs are conducted at 7 campuses across India – JNV Bengaluru Urban (Karnataka), JNV Bundi (Rajasthan), JNV Kottayam (Kerala), JNV Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), JNV Pune (Maharashtra), JNV Bengaluru Rural (Karnataka). Dakshana’s 1-year program is conducted at Dakshana Valley, Kadus Village, approximately 60 kms from Pune in Maharashtra.
