Applications are open for the D-Prize global Competition. D-Prize supports new entrepreneurs who can distribute proven poverty interventions. If you are still a student or have existing commitments, you should have a clear idea how to transition into a full-time founder. D-Prize is exclusively interested in ventures that will scale distribution of an already proven poverty intervention in the developing world. Eligibility

  1. D-Prize is for aspiring entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world, of any age, and any background. The majority of our awardees have not launched nor raised any funding.
  2. Funding existing organizations will be considered only if you are piloting a new distribution-focused initiative, and you have a need for high-risk capital that cannot be supported by your current donors or revenue.
  3. Existing organizations applying to D-Prize should have operated for no more than 18 months and raised no more than $30,000 in outside funding.
  4. This time team is only able to evaluate applications submitted in English. However, your English does not need to be perfect to apply, and grammar and vocabulary errors will not be penalized.

Stated amount: 1,679,020 Most promising teams will be awarded with up to $20,000 USD to launch a pilot version of your new organization wherever extreme poverty exists, with a goal to serve millions in the years ahead. Application

No information available. Follow our Application Process to design an initial test pilot of your larger vision. Submit your concept to our twice-annual competition. If selected, you will receive seed support to launch. For more detail, please check official link.

Selection process

Evaluation Process Round 1 Submit your concept note and resume(s). We generally receive 1700 submissions per competition. Round 2 Top 5% of entrepreneurs are invited to submit a full 10 page proposal. You will have four weeks to draft and submit. Final Round Top entrepreneurs interview via phone and email. The top 1% will receive up to $20,000 to launch. Launch You will spend the next three months using your talent to start a venture that can grow and help millions of people. Other Info D-Prize is a grant-funded nonprofit targeting extreme poverty. We seed social impact organizations that otherwise wouldn’t exist. Most founders in low-and-middle income countries don’t have access to startup capital, and we provide philanthropic seed support so their ventures, NGOs, & charities can launch. We care about evidence-based impact. The world already has cost-effective products & services targeting poverty, and we specifically seed organizations to distribute these at scale where there is still need. Our vision is to see existing high-impact poverty interventions made universally accessible.
